best gun for under 500

If you've got 500 bucks, you should be looking for things like the Ion, used upped Impulses, used Trixes, Timmies or Angels.

And if you buy a Spyder when you have the chance to get something much nicer, then we have to talk.

No kidding. No matter what you put on a Spyder, it's still a low quality blowback.
Get a 03/04 Speed, if you can. They might fetch another hundred bucks, but whatever.

It's a nice electro, has breakbeam eyes, and it shoots fast enough. The Ion will do about 300 damage to your wallet, then youll have 200 left over for a tank and hopper.

I would not get one of the first batches of Ions. They could have problems (and probably will, as most new guns do) If I was you, just getting a gun for $500, I would get a new B2k5 or a used matrix. (The new if you can only buy new)

Don2007 - Look at either getting an Ion (http://www.badlandspaintball.com/guns/ion.html ...not nearly the best price, since it's in Canada!), or a Wrath (http://www.bradyspaintball.com/diwrpagunwrb1.html). Both look nice, and I'm still debating between the two as backups. When the pro-shop gets some Ions in today, I may have the chance to shoot one... if I like what I see, Ion it is.

Umm nooo if you upgrade it enough its not a blowback..my friends spyder is electro-pneumatic...excuse the spelling:P

You can get 03 or 04 speeds for that much. Also look into trixes, and shockers (used).

So, yeah, I got to check out an Ion today at the shop...

Holy damn. These things are MUCH better than in the pics! Felt really good, too, in my hands. This is NOT some shoddily-put-together piece. I WILL be getting an Ion as a backup!

Back to my point; screw the Wrath... Ion all the way. :tup:
