Turn the reg all the way down, then gas it up. Slowly turn up the pressure. They come w/ a gauge don't they? Just look at that.

I don't quite know what you mean by this, but yes, turn the reg all the way down by turning it out.
By the way, I know a few refs, they don't like having allen keys put in their bottoms ;)

i think you meant to say 'reg' but anyways yea your right. Take your allen key, and turn the reg ouwards to lowre the pressure all the way. Put on the tank, and slowly turn the pressure up.

if i ever get the money to piss i think i will try to put some random reg like a black magic or angel reg on my ion for schitz and giggles, i think that would look cool

Black magic and Angel regs aren't as great as their markers. There are much better regs out there.

would the cp regulator be a good one?

AKA 2-liter(or 1 liter, can't remember)
CP reg or Shocktech reg(same design)
SP Max-flo(w)
MacDev Gladiator
The stock reg, I've heard mixed reviews about it.

if you listed these in best to worse order i believe the gladiator would be better then the CP and its also more expensive

No, they were just regs that perform well overall, no order, just the order they hit my head.

Personally, I find the gladiator to be horribly cumbersome. I love my CP on my cocker. Hasn't let me down once.

Give me this one, as I have no experience with nitro or regs, but when you say turn it ******ds, you do mean counter clockwise until it won't go any further? I'm just being overly cautious because I know what too much pressure can do to a gun.

The manual says to turn the nut counter clockwise with the 3/8" wrench to lower the pressure.
Now, what I am wondering is do they mean counter clockwise when the marker is upright or upside down?
Please assist as I just bought one of these and don't want to blow it up either. Thanks.

You won't blow up your gun by having the pressure too high; you'll blow the solenoid. The ASA is reverse-threaded from what I've heard so far and you have to turn it counter-clockwise to get the regulator to tighten in the ASA. I'd also think this would be true to get the velocity to adjust.
*Notice that we're not talking about where your tank screws in, just FYI for some people.*

The ASA is not reverse threaded. The bottom of the reg (adjustment nut) is.

Still doesn't answer my question...so Rob, counterclockwise decreases pressure or not?

I believe it increases the pressure, but I don't have one in my hands to play with at the moment, so i can't tell you for sure. It was odd, to my recollection.

I suppose then, if the adjustment nut is reverse threaded then turning the nut counter clockwise, while the marker is upright, will decrease the pressure.
Can anyone confirm this? Thanks.

From what Rob thinks, counter clockwise increases the pressure. But to tell the truth, it's probably set at 180 by smart parts. So the only way to tell is screw in a tank and adjust the reg then and see what happens.
