They move your tank further up on your gun so it creates a better over all balance for your gun, and it also makes it less bulky by compacting the shape of your gun.

KAAP's Drop Zone II is another great cradle/drop.

the CORE Universal Tactical Drop Forward is the best because it makes the co2 tank or n2 tank like halfway under the gun for good balance .... with that you can move yur gun alot easier... plus it comes with a low pressure gauge to measure how much co2 u have left... its about $50 with all the macro lines and the drop forward :atten:

But gauges are worthless if you are running co2 because they will never give you the correct reading.
Definately worth it if your running nitro though...
