Ok, so today i was in school and my tecaher assigned a project. the project had to be on any sport. we just had to explain the rules and how its played etc. so she was asking what sport we all were going to do so i said paintball. then she said meet me after class. so i did and she said "im not letting you do this on paintball because first, its not a sport, and second, i just dont like it. i was like, What the Heck why isnt it a sport. and she said because it's not, now get to class.
I was soo pissed. :pissed: :pissed: :pissed:
i was wondering what to say to make her change her mind.
What grade you in? No february breaK?
Do two reports, and try to hand in the paintball one, and if she doesnt take it hand in the other report.

That would be the ideal solution if you have enough free time to do 2 reports.

I personally don;t consider this a sport (no flaming or preaching I don't wanna argue please) but the teacher has no right to say that. She can turn something down becuase she doesn;t like it, but htat's just wrong. I wouldn't do 2 reports but if you really are into the idea and don;t mind the work, that would be a harcore way to show your dedication. Just tell the teacher that it is a sport, and she may not like it, but she has to accept it becuase it aint going anywhere.

It's extreme, not regular. Do you really think there's as more people that like paintball than baseball, football, or basketball?

Actually...yes. I think you should go back to her and tell her that it is a sport. Find some sort of statistic tonight. Then tell her that "I just don't like it" is not a legit reason. Thats what I would do. Hate when teachers are biased towards paintball because it involves "guns" and "violence":pissed:

What are some of the other so called "SPORTS" the other kids are doing, then I would argue the point why Paintball is more of a sport than cricket, Croquet, and Bad Mitten. Liberal teachers if your parent are cool I woulld have them call the teacher. She is probably one of those teachers that says its okay to cut funding to arts and music as long as "Sports" like football and basketball get to be played.........Idiots

Do the report on paintball anyways.

Instead of trying to fight it, just do the report on another subject. Don't waste your time trying to change your mind, who cares what she thinks. Trust me, you can't win these type of things, so just suck it up and do it on football or something.

Yea teachers can be very retarded. My sister's teacher wouldnt let her to a report on james whitcom riley(a famous hoosier poet) because people dont talk he did anymore.

Well I see your point, but Badminton (not Bad Mitten) is definitley a sport. If you think otherwise, you've never played it the way it's meant to be played.
(I guess you could use that argument with paintball too...go nuts:) )
Up here (northeast) its a week off from school.

Heres my solution...
"its not a sport"
Ask her to define sport, if she does and in fact paintball is not covered by the definition, accept it but don't go down w/o a fight, tell her she must refuse all others that do the same (Golf, billiards, crap like that)
"i just dont like it"
Tell her that you don't like her face so you should be excused from her class.

02-23-2005, 01:54 PM
just print off this paper and show her the first sentence. http://www.bmtc.net/~fletch/index_files/page0002.htm
or you could find something else that says its a sport and show her that.
"i just dont like it"
Tell her that you don't like her face so you should be excused from her class.

Just do the paintball one anyway.
Ask for the definition of a sport, then if she comes up with some lame excuse not do give you a definition take it up with the principle or something.
Paintball is a sport, people get physical exercise, play together on teams and play in tournaments and series'.

Noun
1. a. Physical activity that is governed by a set of rules or customs and often engaged in competitively. b. A particular form of this activity. 2. An activity involving physical exertion and skill that is governed by a set of rules or customs and often undertaken competitively.
well if thats the definition of a sport..I cant see how you can say paintball isn't a sport

paintball is definantly a sport. Teams get paid to play that does qualify it as a sport. Besides it has all the fundamentals of a sport, teamwork, exercise etc. THe fact that there are professional teams who get upwards of 250,000 a year and the fact that there are about 4 major event holders, NPPL X-BALL, PSP, and MIllenium. ITs a sport dont get me started. And i jsut dont like it, WTF is that man, dont do the report and when she asks you why say you didnt like it and you dont like her. what a :censored:

Which reads...
Paintball is America’s fastest growing extreme sport. Unlike other extreme sports like mountain climbing, motocross, stock car racing, sky diving, whitewater kayaking, paintball is the only extreme sport that gives you a high adrenaline rush without a risk of serious injury, due to an error in judgment.
Unless, of course, that the error in judgement is taking off your mask in game.
Try explaining nicely why paintball is a sport. If she still says no, then do it on something else. No need to anger your teacher and get a big fat 0 in the gradebook over this.
And how come I never meet anyone that says paintball is bad? Maybe people in NH are just more open-minded:P

1. Be rational
2. Ask for a definition
3. Explain to her that paintball is not when a bunch of hicks chase eachother with guns
4. If it still doesn't work, then don't sweat it, its not worth failing over.
Or, you could eat her babie(s), if she has none, then move down the food chain (husband, dog, cat, bird) :D

Just do the report...This isn't life affecting and its obvious that the teacher is too biased against paintball.
I did my report on paintball and we had to do research in the school library on paintball. The librarian couldn't find one thing on paintball and she said go pick a real subject. Paintball is a joke. Go pick something more useful like Racism...
WTF is there to be learned about racism besides little statistsics? Nothing at all...
I think she fails to realize that paintballers make more than her...And that it is much harder of a job as well. There are people who like cocky paintballers, but who the hell likes cocky librarians?
Here's a quote describing how sad her job is:
"All of you think you know how to use a search engine like Google, but you really don't know how."
She tries to teach us how to use google...saying things the full name of HTTP and URL so that she sounds more intelligent, but she's really not.

me neither...well except for the cute blonde that sits in front of me in theology...she asked "dont your parents have a problem with you going out and shooting people?", it was funny at the time, but yeah no one really cares here in socal, everyone is just too stoned or into themselves to care about anything...
and about that teacher, if she wont let you do paintball, take it to the principal, explain the situation calmly, show the proof, and if the principal doesnt accept, find a new school.

Ahh the joy of conventional schooling. Teachers used to do this to me until I said that paintball is the only thing that keeps me sane. Honestly, if it weren't for paintball I think my school would have burned down a couple of times. Tell your teacher straight up to let you do it, and if she doesn't, take it to the school board.

My buddy had the exact same thing happen to him freshman year. He just did his report on boxing and dealt with it.
Then he got a magazine taken away by our study hall "teacher". When he asked why, she said "It's people like you that shoot up schools."

Ask to do airsoft. then flip out on her if she says yes, because paintball and airsoft is practicly the same.
All the teachers at my school actually like paintball. Almost every science class, we have a 10 minut discussion on paintball and all of the scientific things involved in it. Ive done several english and french reports on paintball, and 1 french report I did was about the safety of paintball, my french teacher was like "how much is it to play? im gonna try it and bring my son" Also in science, my teacher let my bring in my BKO, and show how the pnuematics in it work. Its a catholic school too!

She can't give you an "F" if the reprot is within the parameters that she set. If you did a report on playing video games, that would be a vaild reason to get an "F".
She sounds like an awfull teacher. Its like do a report on sports but only the ones I like.BS

Ok, today today i stayed after class and i started to give her all of these examples on how it's a sport. After about 20 minutes of us talking she FINALLY agreed with me that it is a sport. i was so happy i thought she finally gave in. but right after she agrees with me she says. I just dont like the (makes a trigger pulling notion with her finger). before she kicked me out she said. I'll agree with you thats its a sport but your going to have to convince me a little more convincing. I dont know what she meant by that but im determined to do it.
