For rebound, it depends on the tourney's rules. It does have a tourney lock, though.

I don't mean to sound like a noob, but what is tourney lock?
I have never shot an electro.

tourney lock stops you from messing around with the settings during a game without opening the grip and tinkering with the innards.

How do you change the rate of fire (ROF)?

It should say all this information in the manual.

What is an Anti-Siphon Tube?
BenMolthen

its a tube that goes into your gun to stop liquid co2 from getting it it and doing damage. You need one for a Ion.

The anti-siphon tube goes into your CO2 tank, not your gun. N2 or compressed air don't have anti-siphon tubes because they don't need them. CO2 is a liquid and compressed air and N2 aren't. You can get a anti-siphon tube off some websites or from your local paintball store.

Yes the Ion is completely tournament legal just make sure you bring down the ROF to 15 bps max for those 15 bps restricting tourney's (which there are a lot of those now).

CPOA, PSP, NXL. If you ramp in NPPL you'll be tossed right out on your butt faster than you can say "huh".

so how are they gonna know if you are ramping? i mean i put my ion on the rebound mode, and it isnt every trigger pull, once you start walking the trigger, it starts to kick in. So they'd have to shoot it more than 5 times just to know that is ramping.

You sir, have just answered your own question.

They literally ask to see your gun and actually fire off some rounds just to make sure its not on ramping mode. :D
This is where you start to get cheaters buying chips which have a special code in order to turn on or turn off ramping so that the officials at these tournaments can never find out. :dodgy:

No one likes cheaters.

On the Ion manual, it says DO NO EXCEED 300 FPS, how do you know if you are exceeding 300 FPS?

Dwell is how long the solenoid stays open.
The solenoid is an electropnuematic valve that controls the air flow to the bolt in the Ion.

With a chronograph. Have you ever played paintball before? Any local pay-to-play field and the vast majority of pro-shops will have a chronograph to test the speed of your gun.

Chrono your gun under 300 FPS. After that it shouldn't exceed 300 FPS from there unless your using Co2. (Co2 causes major FPS fluctuations according to it's surrounding temperature and many other factors; such as how fast your shooting, etc.)

It works better on N2/Compressed air?
Every paintball gun works better on Nz/CA instead of COz.

Yep, just about every paintball gun will definitely work better with N2\Compressed Air. :bouncy:
