After using a spyder for over a year I recently bought an A-5 and I love it. :)
I also purchased and expansion chamber for it that has begun to leak. I was going to replace or fix the expansion chamber but then I started reading about the Palmer Stabilizer and everyone here seems to love it.

After searching through some posts I am a little confused. Some people say (or imply) that you can just get the Palmer Stabilizer and slap in on the a-5 and go (using CO2) and some say that you need either an anti-siphon or an expansion chamber before the Palmer Stabilizer. Which is it? I want to replace my expansion chamber with the Palmer Stabilizer and I don't have an anti-siphon tube in my tank. Will this cause a problem?

Also, having never actually seen a Palmer Stabilizer in person I don't know how the adjusting process works. Can someone fill me in?
Is it true that it will take a few thousands rounds to break in the Palmer Stabilizer? that seems a bit excessive, but then again I am ignorant to the works of the Palmer Stabilizer.

According to Palmer, this will fit the A-5. Does it just plug in as an expansion chamber would?

Thanks in advance, and please share any additional information about the Stabilizer that think may be helpful.

I am using an A-5 with CO2.

After your done reading that you'll realize that:

A-5 with A/S Co2 Tank + Palmers Male Stablizer (one linked is correct) = Ideal Co2 Air System.

Yes it takes a few thousand shots to break in (roughly a case), it's adjustable at the bottom of the Stabilizer.

Just get your tank A/Sed, slap on a Palmers and you're good to go. A/S is NOT required but it will make your Stablizer work even better.

Thanks Greedy.

Let me start by saying that I am not up on all the lingo...

That is quite an impressive setup you have. I like the idea of being able to run the stabilizer directly into the valve and I don't want to remove the stock grip. I would also like to do it right and have an expansion chamber before the stabilizer for the optimal setup. Plus, personally I am not a fan of drop forwards. I like they way they look on other guns, I just don't want them. Can I replace where the tank screws in right now, with an expansion chamber device that will not require a drop forward. I know what I am thinking, but I'm not sure if I am making sense when I am typing it.

Basically I want to replace my current expansion chamber that plugs directly into the gun with the palmer stabilizer and somehow have an expansion chamber between the tank and the palmer.... Is that possible?

Thanks.

What you want is not possible. Being the Uncertified A-5 Genius I am an Anti-syphoned Co2 tank and a Male Palmers Stablizer will suffice.

I was thinking you could do this, needing the following:

Expansion Chamber
Palmers Stabilizer
Dead on Vertical Adapter (http://www.deadonpaintball.com/DEADONPAINTBALL/itemdesc.asp?CartId={E006E21E-0C57-4FC8-EVEREST89CA-A000BE1FA583}&ic=A5VA&eq=A5VA%2DA&Tp=)

Using instead of the knob a Palmers Male Stabilizer, before that would be the exp chamber making the Co2 tank go into the Exp. Chamber, then to the Male Stablizer, being tada, what you want. One problem, the fittings won't be able to make it through the Dead on Verticfal Adapter at that point since the elbows would get in the way.

Now if you could find another regulatar that would fit, with the fittings for air at the bottom then you're in business. I do not know of one off hand.

Just so you know, so far, doesn't look like it can be done. But, if you want to keep the front grip and the palmers, ditching the Exp. Chamber you could. You'd just use the Dead on Adapter and put the Palmers in the spot on the left of the picture, being the front. Using that as your front grip, like me.

Good luck.
