My friends are in a argument over which are best, spyders or tippmanns. I know this thread isn't going to establish which is better, beacuse it is just peoples opinions. I just want to see what you all think.

There are so many of these it's not even funny. To me, spyders balance better and feel better. Thats why I'd go with a spyder. I think that stock spyders outperform stock tippys too.

Now I shall say something radical.

THEY ARE EXACTLY EQUAL.

Seriously, give every feature on both of them a rating from 1 to 10. Add them up, and both markers are equal. Which features do you consider most important is the only question worth answering and every person's answer will be different.

tippmann outperform and outmanuver spyders by 1000 miles. the spyders may have a first superficial nice feel but after ur first match, **** happens. they chop like the french guillitione, clogg more than toilet after fat ******* tAkes a crap, leak air, threads fall off and parts seem mysteriously disapear after ever battle. ummmm maybe because an indonesian kid put the gun together for 5 rupples just to buy a bannana. now, the spyder XTRA ranks rock bottom compared to any other spyder. this gun is the epitome of bad guns. two people i know have this gun and it cloggs, breaks, squeks, farts, s****S and flaugs more than another gun on the market. my brothers stingrayII doesn't have as many problems.
now im not prejudice against spyder owners, no sir ree. but i am prejudice against people with spyders who say they are better than everyone else, and say their guns can out do a tippmann.
:finger: <-- to all u spyder owners who say tippmanns suck. because TIPPMANN HAULS *****

None of the stuff you just said happened to my spyd...i mean rebel. My rebel and my frineds tippmann are exactly the same. The range is basically indefferent and we each had the same problems. I can't say which one is better becuz the truth is they are the same. But, in more depth, Spyders are more customizable. they can borrow parts from other guns. For tippmanns, u need strictly tippy parts. But, on tippmanns, there are more upgrades, for instance, the fully auto upgrade. To me, these balance each other out. I wanted a tippmann until i found a kick a** deal on a rebel, so i got it. And i dont wish i got the tippy. I am sure i would be just as satisfied if i got the tippy.

Tippman is out of its league this thread should say
SPYDER vs PIRAHNA vs. REBEL

Tippmans do not come with the many features as those other 3 lines. They are reliable and great if you deno how to take care of your fun

Funny story about tippys. Last semester, in a tourny, one guy on our team had a tippy. It was the only one of our markers that played in every single game. My cocker missed two, and the rest only played one.

(this was before I had the mag though)

Tippmanns are the best possible gun for the woods and yes it does matter on the feel of the gun. They out perform Spyders. The only reason people dis like them is because people cant hold a little bit of weight.

Its called milk drink some then maybe you can hold a tippmann. oh my, 2 more ounces of weight, call a Wambulance.

ok, ok I shouldn't have done this this thread. There are way to many of them. The topic should have been, "What features on a marker do you value most: Ruggedness/Reliability, looks, general performance from the box, feel, or customizability (is that even a word?) Well just to let you all know I prefer ruggedness and reliabiltiy over looks, and general performance from the box.

My friend owns a Matrix that he just got this week. He is on a team with a few other friends. One has a mag, The other a LCD and he had a m98, The one with the matrix who has a m98, and a spyder shutter. They played on the 16th with me and my friends. We all knew each other from school. THe guy with the spyder had to use my friend with the LCD's back up m98. Since a lot of people where there you could see a lot of different guns. A guy with another shutter was leaking from the so called "regulator". He never played. The spyder sucks. Spyder is in the same boatd as brass eagle. They make crap. Sure the gun can be great but a tippman vs a spyder totally stock for 20 games in harsh, rugged environments, the spyder will lose. Tippmann's may not be the prettiest marker, but you still see people buying excaliburs. Sure the tippmann is heavy. Grow up. My god, are you all panseys? Can't carry a gun? ****. Sure the stock barrel sucks, but don't all stock barrels suck at one time?
The best thing I've ever heard was at my local field. It has 3 levels of fields to play on. (its in a big old warehouse) the refs just got done introducing all the new players on what to do and all(it was a free admission day). So he's done and the advanced players(anyone with there own gun) went to the basement field. So the ref is like "Advanced players to the basement. Rentals and Spyders up stairs"

Tippmannmann and Omega- It's not the weight of the gun that matters, its how it balances. I guarantee my Spyder will hang with the big boys. It has. My spyder has given me no problems whatsoever. This argument won't ever end. It is all preferences. On the speedball field, I think a stock spyder will have advantages over the tippmann. In the woods, the tippmann has an advantage.

tippmanns i think are more reliable but my spyder can shoot farther with better accuracy than my friends 98 we both have smart parts big daddy barrels also. his gun is also a gashog. so if i had my choice again i would have chosen the spyder over the tippmann any day

Tippmann's are by far bettr. I've seen Spyder spit the bolt through the back of the gun, literally. I've also seen cracked powertubes and stripped screws whic hare by far more common on Spyders. Plus, Kingman seems to think that if you gun blows up, it's your fault. They won't even replace a $00.75 screw that Tippmann will give you for FREE!!! Tippmann's are much more reliable, fiarly accurate, and longer lasting.

I dotn really have a spyder, but i thought rebels and spyders were basiccaly equal. Well, obviously theyre not becuz nothing you guys said abotu spyders is true to my rebel. Sorry i even posted.

In my experience, both gun's perform exactly the same(with the model 98 having a slight rate of fire advantage), and are equally reliable. I've never had any major problems with my spyder, and its taken a good beating in its time (thrown, submerged, fallen on, dirt in gun, etc.) And if I ever had a problem with my marker, it was fixed in less the five minutes, wheras minor problems with tippmans that required field stripping took quite a bit longer.

Spyders dude, Tippmanns are well... Big, heavy, ugly, and near useless in a speedball match

Ok... I've had enough of this spyders suck, tippmanns rule crap. If its one thing that all tippy owners have in common (Just the ones that posted here) is they are all cocky and have bad attitudes. My Spyder beats the SH-T out of my friends tippmann. OK? Its just the way it is for OUR guns. Sure, your tippy MIGHT be able to kick my spyders a** but who cares? Its all just based on OUR OWN experiences. You have no idea how good or bad my spyder is so just dont say "Your gun sucks" cuz you dont know that. And i dont know that about your gun either. Based on MY EXPIRENCES yes indeed, the spyder gets my vote.
BTW- sorry bout the profanities.... I got a little PO-ed...;)

bring it on!
ruggedness: tippmanns. the one good thing
performance:spyders. light, compact, easy to fix.
feel: spyders, they're compact, light, come with double triggers. tippmann with a 20 oz, flatline= you're gonna hurt yourself sometime in a game
customizability: omg, spyders kick arse in this arena. spyders have so many upgrades, you probably couldn't count them all. and they are reasonable well priced. tippmann upgrades cost loads of money, and you can only get them from basically one place: Tippmann. they have a monopoly on their upgrades. i was helping my cousin look for some parts for his tippmann, and man, i saw a pack of o-rings, 5, (bolt and hammer) for 12 bucks. tippmann rings too. i'm like jeezus, thats fricking expensive. you can get 20 orings or something for a spyder 5 bucks.

my experiences: i'm playing predator, me and 2 other spyder owner vs 15 tippys. guess who won? the spyders. two of the tippy owners had their guns break on them. another had a o-ring burst in his gun. another tripped, and hurt himself when his tippy hit his arm, and rest got picked off by us.

It is all in the player. For durability, Tippmann hands down. I've seen a guy drive a tent stake with the butt of his Prolite then go play with it. For weight it would be the Spyder. Distance, accuracy, upgrades......blah, blah, blah, not much difference in them.

if you want to go on and on blabing about the gun u can, spyder is equally upgradable as a tippy. but it comes down to prefrence i heard someone say tippys are good for woods ball, how? no gun will out range another if they have the same fps and who really gives 2 s**ts. it comes down to feel of the gun and what u want ur gun to do be really quick, LP what ever

JasonY

Well, i have played with both. I have to go with the Tippmann. They are more reliable, much more accurate and dont chop paint like a spyder. My shutter chops paint like there's no tomarrow and my freinds tippy has chopped like 4 balls out of about 4000rds. I am totally disgusted with my shutter and the way it preforms, a bone stock tippman was more accurate then mine and i am running lp and am using a 32* CF barrel which on any other gun is very accurate. I hate it! So i bought an Autococker. Oh and theTippmans i think are more upgradable, well atleast they have more worth while upgrades.
