Hey Everyone,
I was wondering what gun is better between the Bob Long Timmy
or the Bushmaster B2k2? Does anyone know what other kinds of up grades I would need for either gun or any other advise?
-Thanks for your help

Intimidators are HUGE though .. Yah, they probably have better "features" .. But the bushmaster has less kick and is lower pressure. They are probably both the same consistancy, and they are both very precise.
I would say if you like a big gun, then get the intimidator. Some people like a lot of kick, so they know when they've fired. (or something like that..i never understood it :) ) .. But other players, like a smaller gun w/ less kick so they can aim more accuractly.
But i would never be able to play with an intimidator, thus, i bought a bush :)
Good Luck

Intimidators have less kick than the Angel if you set them up right. I am kind of regretting the fact that I traded my timmy for an Angel. It was straight across, but still. I am really wishing I still had my Timmy.
Intimidators are actually a little shorter, gripframe to gripframe, than a cocker is. This is the marker itself. No barrels. It stands just slightly taller (1/2") than a cocker. It is still a little bit shorter than the bushmaster. It also has a built in D/F.
Take it for what you will, but the timmy is the better marker. Now it's just a matter of trying to figure out which one is better for you.

Do you chop paint in your Defiant/Bushmaster? Yes. Alot of paint? probably not. Do you chop paint in the Intimidator? No. Alot of paint? None.
To me, thats all that matters. If you don't like them, give valid reasons. I personally feel that this is a valid question that deserves valid answer. Not an answer "Because the timmy is ugly, you should get the bushmaster/defiant." State performance, not looks. I love the looks of the timmy over the bushy/defiant anyday.

What about us that don't mind chopping once every3 months? With most barrels, they clean out pretty nice, plus, it's not like the gun shuts down if you chop.
I like the looks of both, and hear great things about the performance of both, but I've chosen to buy an Intimidator as my next marker. I just like everything I've read and researched about them, and I love the way they look, personally. :D
I'm sure the Bushmaster is a great marker too though.

Okay, consistancy depends on the regulator and setup. And kick? my god, not many run the Intimidator at HP. And a low rise and the new grip frame will make it smaller. My friends have LCD's. I showed them my gun and they didn't see anything bad. They said its a little big but nothing major. So the gun is a little big, you pick whats right for you.
How much did you spend on your custom Bushmaster? If I spent that much on an intimidator, im sorru but there would be no contest. So my gun may be ugly in your opinion, Excaliburs are ugly, and they own. What do you hate about Intimidators? They are big and ugly? The gun is not that ****ing big. People only say that cause its probably the only bad thing about the gun and since it is the only bad thing people have to make it worse than it is.
And I'm just curious, but DCMander, why cant you ever play with an Intimidator?
And Richy, didn't you want to get an Intimidator?

Timmy - hands down. I have used both and own many expensive guns. Timmy is king for the $ -- dont forget that antichop eye. The trigger rocks.

Somebody indicated that they couldn't use an intimdator because it kicked too much. What??? I've got mine shooting at 200 PSI and it shoots 290. An intiimidator completely outclasses a low-end bushy. Put an antichop eye on a bushy and let's compare.
dcmander

Jeez.. you guys acted like i started a KKK against intimidators and started burning them or something..DAMNNNN
Settle Down .. You timmi owners sure get offended easily...
1) I think the intimidator is a great marker.. If i was maybe a black player, and could stand the extra kick, size, and weight, i would probably use one .. Except, i think if i ever played back i would use the matrix :P
2) They aren't that ugly, but they are by no means attractive :) And my personal opinion is that bushmasters look better.. You're right, its just looks.. that doesn' t matter.. I was just jokin around .. chill people
They are great .. I cannot use them because the little extra kick is too much for me and throws off my balance. Yes i have used a stock one and one on the LP mod.. but even w/ the LP mod, it still kicks a little more than i would like. They are just too big for me.. that is why i cant stand to play w/ them, cause i suck w/ them and get nailed in my bunker cause i cant get tight enough.
I'm also 5'8" and 145 pounds, so im not that big of guy.. So the size and kick doens't suit me as a paintball player.. The bushmaster does, so its my personal preference.
I'm not putting down the timmi, im just saying i cant use them, and there are many front players just like me that can't use them also.. so im telling those ppl to look into the bushy cause its perfect for me =)
Yes my sonic was 990$ .. (Although i got it cheaper :P :D ) .. But it is also a custom gun, you and defiantly get more attention as a customer.. even more than ole bob himself.. hes a bushy guy, what can i say.. wait a second..did i say "bushy??" i meant.. busy..sorry =P :wink2:
Oh and I agree w/ rich.. i really don't think CHOPPING is that big of deal..sure it can lose games for you.. But enless your gun chops a few or more every case, then its not that big of deal. Chopping isn't that big of deal for me.. if i chop, i tuck in my bunker, squeegee.. and sometimes if i really chop back, i can pull up the pullpin and slide out the bolt and swab the top bore.. its easy..i can clean the whole top bore and barrel in under 10 seconds.. Could i have missed a key point in the game that a timmi user would have seen? Perhaps.. But its not that big of deal, and IMO timmi owners make it a big deal because it is honestly, the timmi's biggest feature..
And timmis chop also, even w/ the ACE .. It will chop less than bushmasters, but neither will chop eneough to make a huge difference in your playing ability. Rich is exactly right.
So please you sensative timmi owners, get off my back cause i wasn't trying to start something .. I was just stating some facts and my opinions and my preferences .. Please accept them, and do not put them down.

What is this "kick" you speak of? I honestly don't have any. I have the Low Pressure mod and that plus a delrin bolt eliminates all the kick. I have zero kick.
Scott Misfits
01-05-2002, 12:41 PM
I never had kick in mine either. A properly set up timmy will not give anymore kick than a defiant/bushmaster. It will give less. Souped up or not. You cannot make a tuned in timmy have more kick than ANY bushmaster.
You WILL NOT chop paint with a timmy. You might break paint in the barrel. You won't chop paint though.
You like your bushy. We like the timmy. Leave it as that.

I do not believe that statement.
The Intimidator I was using had kick..more kick than my bushy. The LP Intimidator had kick.. more kick than my bushy. I don't know if it had a delrin bolt or not. I don't know if it was set up "correctly" either.
All guns can chop.. yes CHOP not break. I believe the anti-chop eye just delays when a ball is not fully in the breach .. So it can still chop..it would be hard to, but you still can.

How can a bushmaster owner call any gun ugly. I mean, cutting 2 lines into a marker does not qualify as milling. Foo

In response to all the people whining about a timmy's kick, let me just say that you are over reacting, its a paintball gun i mean jeez, compare it to any real gun and its nothing, and yes i admit the timmy has some kick, but its nothing and is easily compensated for, and if any one says otherwise they just need to work on learning to deal with it.

Who doesn't defend their gun? .. it was just a little humor.. once again, i forgot that you BL Timmi owners mean business ALL THE TIME!
And, yes, the way i play, too much kick would throw ME off.. I think my little size has something to do w/ that.. cause if i were maybe 280 pounds it wouldn't effect me as much. But even though you are smaller, it doesn't affect YOUR playing style.
I was not contradicting myself.. i made too separate statements which i maybe should have joined together, like the statement above this paragraph, for further understanding..
..Oh yah, and i know what a post. No need to inform me.
Edit: I further examined my previous posts.. and found, indeed, a typo.
This sentence:

It should read:
Depends on the person and style, not ONLY on the size.

Comparing the kick between an intimidator and bushmaster isn't even worth doing. Know why? Because they operate in the same manner, and have extremely similar internals. Only difference is the bushmaster comes with a delrin bolt, the intimidator does not. If you replaced the intimidator bolt with a delrin bolt you'd have a gun that felt almost identical to the bushmaster.

Good for you.
And twitch i dont think the intimidator i tried had a delrin bolt..it was completely stock w/ a gasthru and maxflo tank. I need to encourge that guy to do some mods!! He probably already has though..haven't seen him at the field for a few months.
Fact is, I'm more comfortable with the size and feel of the bushmaster .. You are more comfortable with the timmi.
I just cant seem to whip that timmi around bunkers like i can my bushmaster :( .. o well, i need to practice w/ one some more :P I'll get back to you .. :D
elTwitcho
01-11-2002, 11:32 PM
Well, the intimidator comes stock with an extremely heavy bolt. Why bob didn't do a delrin bolt to start with, I'll never understand, but that's where the kick somes from, since the bushmaster and timmy (as mentioned) operate the same way, though the bushmaster actually runs at a higher pressure than the intimidator.

01-12-2002, 09:03 AM

You can run bushys low, as well as intimidators. What do you run yours @ twitch?

About 180. You can run an intimidator as low as 160psi and put out an FPS of 290 if you should feel so inclined

The fact is that the kick you feel in your own timmi may feel like a hurricane to someone else with a different marker.
The fact is the way a certain marker feels so great for someone, it will feel very different for someone else with a different marker.
Accept others opinions.

All that talk about most any gun kicking is a big pile of brasseagle. Neither of them kick with paint, and if any one continues to say that it'll be pretty obvious they haven't used them in a game. Bushies have a rep for kicking, which they do kick like a mofo without paint, while dryfiring. I was snap shooting like a dream saturday, and the non exsistant kick affected me zero. This hole argument is pointless as when you are playing, non of this affects you. Just hold your reg and shoulder your tank, and no gun will kick enough for you to care. Jeese
