Hi I have a spyder currently. It has some upgrades including a barrel and an ex chamber. I play a lot of rec. ball and some speed ball. These are my options. Buy some more upgrades for my spyder including an e-frame and a new valve, or I can buy a Phantom with 45 grips. Is the phantom good for rec play and so on. Also I said i am getting a phantom to some of my friends and there all like "your downgrading to a pump". I mean I want an accurate gun for woodsball but still want to be competitive in speedball, and also I will still have my spyder. So is it worth getting the phantom or sticking with the spyder and gettin an e-frame a new valve. Is the phantom accurate stock? Also if i get in a fire fight witha phantom am i screwed? my brother says it is a waste of money but i think it is a good investment.

I also will be buying a 9 volt revvi and a small nitro tank either way i go. Because co2 simply won't due in a Maine winter.

Thanks for the help. which should I choose and please some info on the phantom.

old saying, "its not the marker, but rather the player" that is true untill you are pinned down by an angel with an unlimited supply of paintballs. A pump will make you a better shot, and force you to use tactics rather then "spray and pray".

Well I was pretty much faced with the same question. Upgrade my existing Model 98  or sell it to get a Phantom VSC  . And yes everyone said the "down grading to a pump" type of thing and all the crap that came with it. Well now it's been about 4 or 5 months and I am OWNING with my pump. I played some Sup' Air 10 man speed ball and shot 6 guys in one game ( my average was about 3 ). So don't be afraid about getting a pump. It's hard at first and takes aiming practice and some natural paintball tactic skillz but is HELLA FUN. I say go for it cuz I seen a Spyder Shutter with a E-frame and it's kinda stupid :biglaugh:

good luck :)

i would probluly get the phantom if your going to get nirto matt but i'm not going to help you in rec. ball if you get pinned down buy joels bushmaster. and in speedball, for your skills i would hope you have a good fast finger with your spyder because your screwed with a pump until you get as good as HawaiianPenguin!;) :rolleyes:kong fu master :eyes:
