So, how long do you usually wait before getting a new gun? I am going to get my second gun after a long wait(hope autocockers are worth the wait). My friend just got a black magic autococker, he said that he would probably get a new gun(angel) next christmas. I was thinking about it and is this really what we have to do to compete in paintball? Get new guns every year, because technology will surely leave you behind if you wait for over a year(2 at the most) and i was just wondering how long some of you wait before purchasing your next gun.
Thanks for the info

Well, the wait for most of us is not that we choose to, its from getting $$, not needing a second gun, i.e. selling old one first, trouble deciding or that you arn't sure your ready to spend the entire bank account on a new gun. Sure, we all like to get our hands on the new marker and some wait to see what the new gun is before they decide to buy. Most people come into the Intimidator forum asking whether they should wait or get the current Intimidator.
The time that a person should wait the longest before they get a new gun, is right after there first. I think that it is sad to see someone buy an exspensive cocker or mag or electro and only played for a few months. People really need to be sure they enjoy paintball. But if you have played for years and want a new gun, people with the money just buy em. They know they will have a new toy and it keeps the sport alive in my opinion.
People usually want the new technology. Sure, there are the great guns that never get old to own, like cockers and mags, but players get guns just to have some different. So you don't go to a tournament and see 100's of angels, but you see excaliburs, cockers, mags, matrices and the great Intimidator.

i get a new gun whenever i think my play is falling apart...like my old spyder compact 2000. i loved it, then i started to want a better rof and distance and a fore grip so igot my cocker and now im relizing that cockers arent my style of play so im trying to sell it.
THE POINT IS THAT YOU ONLY NEED THE GUN THAT FITS YOUR STYLE OF PLAY

you can keep a gun as long as you want and you play good and are comfortable with. i just get bored and want new guns. i am happy with the gun i have now but i am trading for a cocker . . . i just want to try something new . . . as do most players.
