some of my friends quit paintball because its expensive. Does anyone think they should lower prices??? i think the sport would grow much faster if there could be price like playing for 3 hrs and having 500 pballs for 10

It wouldn't hurt to lower prices. I play outlaw and it is a little cheaper than fields, but still, it gets expensive.

Approx. 750 a day------$25

CO2----$3

that's around $30 a day and we usually play 2 or 3 times a month

30 X 3 = $90 a month

hmm maybe if you didnt play outlaw and supported fields then they'd lower their field prices and it would help the sport. i play rec and i get the satisfaction of knowing that im helping the sport

People have to play BEFORE the prices can be lowered. I think they're getting lower already. (at least for gear)

Well it's nice to know that other peoples field's aren't that expensive by me it's 100 bucks for a case, 40 for rentals with no balls, 20 bucks for 2 hours. My field sucks sooooooo mucccchhhh.( that's why I play out law I can't afford it I'm only 14) That's what drives people out of the sport.:pissed:

it has gone down. my friend says that it used to be like 60 dollars for a thousand when he was in 7th grade (many a year ago)

ya some fields are decent prices, but some are jut way outta hand. on an average day it costs me about $50 bucks to play with a half case of paint. but indoor fields are more expensive (or some FPO fields) and it will run me upward $100 to play . . . i dont think $50 for a day of play is too bad, but $100 is too much. my local indoor field charges $120 a case of paint, needless to say, i dont play there much. ;)

15 field entry

total: 58 bucks

Paint - £40-£60 a case (crap WDP Victory though)

Entry - Free

Co2 refills - Free

I work there so i get to go free, and cheaper paint. But HPA and Co2 refils are free to all walk-ons.

I am still supporting the companies by buying their products. It doesn't really matter what field charge because I can only go once a month b/c that is the only open day there is.

:eyes: I think that it would help thesport grow if prices were a little cheaper.... thats the only reason BE is a good company because they make "20$ Guns" to start new players:eyes:

true but it also makes them think the sports a rip off because the guns break

The prices where I live are insane!! At the field for a rental gun and 100 paint is 120$ for 2 hours. To solve that we bring our own guns and smuggle in paint. But for all that hassle, we might as well play outlaw and save ourselves the entry fee and half hour drive. There is no Pball store within 3 hours and the only place to get paint is at a sports shop, which raises the prices, 6$ 100 and 5 bucks a 12oz tank. or wally world wher i can buy BE...Yay.:dizzy:

Ouch! High prices! Paintball is definatly too expensive! I am not sure how much the field in my area charges because I haven't checked it out yet but I think a good price for 500 paintballs would be 10-15 bucks. I live in Canada and for me to buy a 200 case of paint it was 8 bucks. There is a store near my area that will refill anything up to a 20 oz CO2 for only $2.50 on a tuesday. I use a 14oz. As far as markers go they are WAY to high but at least if you get a good one you only need to pay the price once. All in all I think Paintball is a great sport and if you prices went down then I think just about ever one of my friends would be right into it! Also companies could probably make more money by lowering prices!

Any I can get a decent price for CO2 here and paintballs aren't too bad but they should be lower and markers are just crazy!

geesh, my field is only 100$ a case for paint and that's canadian, 70$ american. Co2 is like 25 cents an ounce. Don't know rental prices, bring my own equipment. :P

Luckily in Dallas and Austin there are some good cheap fields. It's still hard to get non owners to go though since it can cost up to $50 or so for 4 hours. Thor said that if you didn't play Outlaw and went to your local field then they could lower prices. That's true, but that's not how economics work. If your field charges too much, fewer people go and they may have to lower prices. If they charge a lot and then more people then they can handle start showing up, they will keep prices the same or maybe even raise them. Economically there should be a certain price that would make them the most money. If it's a high price and they just have fewer people, tough luck. In order to drive it down, you actually need to have people stop going there. I would hate to have anyone be run out of buisness, but if they charge more than you are willing to pay you should stop going there. Economically speaking anyway.

dang u guyz must have a hard time playin...at my field: BYOP, so dats good i sually bring a case-$60, field entry is $10 for 7 hours ( 1 day) of play. its $2 for a co2 fill, and lunch is $5 (optional) which is 2 just-grilled hotdogs, a bag of chips and a soda. i love my field, great players, great people, great experience.

I charge $15 for a rental, including 100 rounds of paint, air for the day, lunch, and field fee.
If you have your own gun, $5 for the day including lunch and air.

My paint, $4 per 100, $15 per 500, $60 per 2000/case.

People tell me I can't make any money selling so cheap, but I tell them that I am into promotion more than profit right now.

Well Skirmish charges 100 a case of paint pluss tax. I usually only play there for big game/senerio games. Registration for such events are $35...and their normal day play is like $29....for fee, gun, and i believe air and 50 balls. It usually runs me 150 to play a senerio there... though next time i'm gonna find a group of guys to buy paint in bulk...if you buy 5+ cases it's only $80 a case. No I have to admit it's ex*****ve...but the guys there are great...plenty of reffs for the big games, they work on your guns if they go down for free. The one tech fixed my reg in a matter of minutes.

EMR is a bit cheaper i think $80 a case, $10 for all day air, not sure of the entry. They also offer a $150 season pass which I'm gonna be getting and a $50 season air pass. This gets you into any day of play....includes all of their senerios (holy grail, castle conquests, etc... big games all free) and gets you into the MXS games for half price ($25 instead of $50)...so if you go to all the big games like I do it's plenty worth it.

Local field Global Paintball gets $90 a case...for rec days air is free i think with entry which is like 15 if you have your own stuff. They have sat morning speedball sometimes which entry is 10 and free air and paint is 60 a case... from 8 - 12 am.

I want to go to fireball mountain for a byop sunday...from what I have read it's byop and 25 for field fee and all day air...which isn't that bad.

I love my fields more and more every DAY! Hahahaha...check this out: I play at 3 different fields every other weekend, and here are the prices:

Triangle Paintball (Fav. field)

500/Case Paintballs: $23/70 (Powerball)
Co2: 25 cents an ounce
Nitro/CA: 1 or 2 bucks per 1000 PSI
Entry: 5 bucks

Gotcha Paintball

500 paintballs: 20 bucks (Proball or Blaze I think)
Co2: Same as above
Nitro: Same as above
Entry: FREE!

Action Tagg Paintball

500/Case: $20/80 at field (Proball)
Co2/Nitro/CA: Same as above
Entry: Free

I usually go to Triangle, because they have the best paint out of the three fields.

If paintball was cheaper than I would go and play more often. I think half the guns and goggles are total rip offs:pissed:

My field, its $15 for rentals with no balls, $15 admission for the entire day till they close, from like 11am-5pm, but you can for $100 get free admission for a year AND get $100 in paintballs.
They charge $20 for 500 balls, and NITROGEN is 100% free as long as you have admission

I thought prices here were bad....

its usually:

$20/entry
$0.25/ounce co2 $7 all day N2
$7/100balls
$20/rentals

but they got a decent package for rentals that get gun/1000balls/co2 etc for $70

I usually go on their discount days and get $5-$10 off admission so its not to bad...about $53 for a days play

1/2case $30 entry$15 co2 $8

Pool your money! If you're going to a field buy your paint as a group. Or if you play outlaw, buy your paint in bulk. We've been doing that for awhile and it really saves ya in the long run.
