Is rebound mode where you hit the trigger and let go and it has shot 2 paintballs... or what is it?

Rebound only works with a trigger pull. As you walk the trigger it will ramp your ROF upto 17bps but you must be pulling the trigger for this to happen and you must be set to the rebound mode.
I have used this and recieved my questionable looks about legality. Check your field before you use it.

Been_splat is correct. Check with your field first.
I really have no problem with the Ion's ramping capability, because it is fairly well controlled (it takes about 4-5 BPS in the ones I tested to begin ramping) so bunkering moves are not going to be lethal affairs.
However, Ramping DM4s, DM5s and shockers....THAT'S where I put my foot down...

does anybody remember when the ion starts ramping at?

At like 5 or so it will ramp to 17.

Could be, I've never really clocked it. But I can pull with one finger and apparently max it out =/

I believe it starts at 9bps and once it starts it will stay on ramping until the user rof drops to 4-5 bps. This seemed pretty accurate when i shot mine.

It should be 9 pulls per sec before it goes full auto at the max ROF setting. It will stay there as long as you maintain the 9pps. Once you drop to 8pps, it will go back to semi.
IMO, I would set the max ROF to 14 or 15 if you are using rebound. Going from 9pps to the sound of 17bps, people are going to know something is up.

suXor, u sure about it holding at the set max ROF until ur actual trigger pulls drop below 8? I heard and mine seemed to drop out of rebound around 5/sec.

It IS pretty accurate, because there is NO kick at all to the thing. Even people that shoot Excaliburs, Vikings, DM5s, etc. all say that there's no kick to the Ion, even when you're ramping at 17bps. By the way, is the marker mechanically or electronically capped at 17bps?

I'm hearing on pbnation that it is electronically capped and that new boards are coming out that will allow it to go into the low-mid 20's. You may have to up the bolt and possibly the solenoid...but we'll have to wait and see.

I remember reading something like this
"The design of the Ion prevents it from going above 17 bps...''
I think it was somewhere on a FAQ...

Strange...I have shot six different Ions and they all started ramping at 5bps....

Yeah, there's no way I can hit 9bps with my index finger alone. It has to be 5bps, because all the people at the field were like "WOAH" whenever I was doing 17bps one-fingered. Great times.;)

The ion starts ramping at anytime it just depends on how fast you pull the trigger, They say you cant ramp your ions but people come to feilds with their way ramped DM4 and PROTOS
