I'm more of a reader not a poster, but i just wanted to warn everone out there to not shop at actionvillage.com. they may have good prices but out of 4 or my recent orders 2 have had broken items. 1 they flat refused to take back per their policy (which after reading theres a lot they dont take back), the other item was definitly broken and they charged me a restocking fee. after calling them i got their "customer service" that didnt care. just a fair warning. i normally dont rant but they just dont care about their customers. Please feel free to share your bad customer service stories!

I know hta i am not the only one that has had good things to say about shopping there. I have never heard someone have a problem before. THat sucks for you though, you had to pay restocking. too bad ive never really had any problems.

1) Actionvillage is a good store to deal with.
2) Broken items can be from the mail, or from other sources. There are reasons why they don't accept returns on many items from online sales/
3) Restocking fee is normal, most places charge 10-30% restocking fee.
4) They deal with a huge number of people thru both their field and online store. Customer service people employed there......two regulars and other employees answer the phones when lots of calls occur at the same time. How would you like to deal with a hundred phone calls a day? They are intitled to be a bit cranky.

I have never had a problem shopping at actionvillage except for the fact that I live in Illinois and have to pay sales tax when i order there:dodgy:.

Action Village might be the closest online warehouse to my house but they by far have the worst reputation with me. I will definitely never order from them again.
About 6 months ago I planned out an order of about 10 items.....split between myself and both my brothers. I made the order only to find out the next day that every item I wanted was not in stock and they wouldnt have a restock for another week. If the site says that something is in stock, the customer expects it to be and when its not.......guess what they just lost business. All other sites I have ordered from have been on top of things....the site says something is in stock it actually is. Actionvillage does not stay on top of things very well and I hope that they will lose business from the people they have screwed over.
If other people have had good luck with AVI I'm happy for them but sadly they messed up one time to many and I feel for people like landrook who are part of the group of people who havent been as fortunate.
Sorry if thats offended people but thats just my $.02 about the worst online store.

They gave my friend the wrong order. He ordered some really paint and instead he got Draxxus, which is a lot more expensive than the paint he ordered.

You can't expect them to update their whole inventory by the minute.

True but when I watched the site in the week following the "out of stock" incident they never changed the status of any of the items I had ordered.
they could at least try to update the site at least twice a week instead of letting the online status stay the same for weeks. If they have time to write "Only Three Left" next to an item dont tell me they dont have time to update the site every few days.

I say shop at www.paintball-discounters.com it's cheap but it has less of a selection I think then Action-Village It has free shipping on items over $150 though if you use one of their methods and everyone I know haven't complained about it being bad

rcxpaintball, I appriciate you standing up for them but:
1. They may be for other people, however I have had a bad experience with 50% of my orders with them.
2. You are absolutly correct. comsumers do take a risk when ordering online because of possible mail or "other" damage. these items did not appear broken due to mail mishandling, yet actionvillage does have a return policy and said they would take the damaged items back. and no i did not tamper with or break the item, though no one can prove that which is their claim. i gain nothing from lying about this. the items i got didnt work when i received them.
3. yes restocking fees are normal, but not if the item is broken when received.
4. actually I DO! Im a customer service supervisor for a large automotive finance company (we have 4 million ish accounts). i went through the proper channels (first dealing with the rep, then his manager) and, like im sure ive done to people i work with, i could tell they were just being stubborn. now we're talking about $5.00 that i was complaining about here. they could have easily refunded that out of sheer principle. i waive way more than that at work every day. now i know theres a big difference between repeat business for a 30 thousand dollar car and $200.00 worth of paintball crap, but the principle is the same. they could have made lots more money off me in years to come if they had just worked with me, but they didnt. so im using the internet what its for. complaining and urging others to do the same.
btw, i loved your scam forum, great stuff.
oh and dpbmustanglax i agree about their stock availability. i probably could have gotten everything i wanted in 2 orders not 4, but i kept having to wait till it was in stock!

They should have a real-time inventory system so that everytime something gets sold, it's deducted from inventory. It's not something they have to do manually. It should be automatic.
They should be able to stay pretty accurate on inventory status.
and I disagree that they are entitled to be a bit cranky. They can be cranky when they get home. They have a duty to be polite and courteous to their customers. Customers are the ones who pay their bills.

Their stock status is much better now. If they are low, they give an exact number. In fact, when I ordered my pants and headband last friday, I decided to check to see if the stock number changed. Not a minute later after the order processed, the stock had changed.
I have ordered from them 6 times, with only one time having a package not wrapped too well.

I have placed many, many at pbgear.com and have had nothing but good experiences with them. Good prices, fast shipping (I always recieve my order within the week), free shipping on orders over $100, can't get much better than that IMO.

I've placed around 3 orders over $100 so I could get shipping and never had any problems whatsoever.
BUT, if I ever start playing paintball again, I probably won't be ordering from them. They hardly ever have anything I need anymore(namely paintballs).

This seems to be a frivolous thread. It also seems to me that the old saying, "caveat emptor" applies here. That means, "Let the buyer beware." I have purchased things online before, and never had any problems. As you can see, some people have had good experiences with Action Village, and some people have had bad. It is the same with Wal Mart, K-Mart, and any other retailer. Some people are going to have problems.
That being said, take note of the word libel. www.dictionary.com has this definition:
1)A false publication, as in writing, print, signs, or pictures, that damages a person's reputation.
2)The act of presenting such material to the public.
This post is not libel, but it could very well drift in that direction. Libel is a very serious matter. They can sue you for a great deal of money, or they could sue pbreview.com for allowing it. Why am I saying this? Because there are occasions where posts on this website are skirting the edge of libel. So just to distill what I've said down to the key point- be very careful that your negative statements about paintball companies are totally true and supported by facts. If it's not factual, don't report it. Period.
(note: I am not criticizing the opinions expressed in this post, but I am concerned that there are too many people on this website posting comments that are not based in fact and only on opinion. So please don't get mad at me!)

It's true we don't have a "free shipping" policy in place, but we regularly post coupons that would amount to pretty much the same thing (more on really large orders). You can find the coupon codes in the "March Newsletter" up in the stickies. (and a new one each month usually)

It this was such a frivolous post, Im rather curious why you bothered replying to it.
And, though you didnt go and say it, you implied that my post is bordering on slander, which it is not. I merely relayed a customer service concern about a major paintball vendor. Buyer beware indeed! The very reason I started this thread! to make OTHERS beware.

Understand that Pbgear is one of the most well known, and widely used paintball e-store. While you may have had a problem most people have not.
Also you should READ the return policy before you buy anything. Stuff breaks. You can't blame Action village for a broken product. The product could have been a defect or broken during shipping.

It depends what you bought. Some times AVI won't accept returns.
If you read the warranty information on some items it clearly says that action village will only take returns on products that are unopened.
Anyway he should be arguing with the manufacturer to get the product fixed instead of *****ing about AVI.

Go back and read my original post. I said one they wont take back cause of return policy. thats my fault for not reading the return policy. the other item on the other hand is what I was upset about. I called customer service, was told that I could return the broken product WITHOUT a restocking fee. then I got a restocking fee. THATS what i was upset about. Then I call their customer service manager and get a "I dont care" speech. Thats poor customer service and thats what Im talking about. If I knew they were going to charge me a restocking fee I definitly would have gone to the manufacturer first. Please read posts before you insinuate that someone is just *****ing. You know what. this will be my last post on this forum. Obviously my attempt to save others some grief or possibly a bad experience is just going to be constantly criticized like Im some idiot. This is exactly why I dont post on forums.

I have to satnd up for AVI...I have ordered form there a number of times and never had any problems. The only negative thing I could say is that they do take a while to restock items but then again pretty much every website I've seen is the same way.
