This ref(his name is vince) at my field wanted to get a new gun, he was getting bored of his angel ir3. He couldve traded it clean for a lasoya timmy,but noooooo. He decides to sell it and buy an ion instead:laugh: thoughts?

Before you start calling someone else dumb maybe you should stop to think. I do not know the guy but maybe there are other factors involved. Maybe he wants some extra money, maybe he just does not feel the need to own an expensive marker when for his needs all he would want is in an Ion, maybe he is just getting the ion for now and will get another high end gun soon. Well, I do not know why he would sell his nice gun and buy an ion, but I think before I will call him dumb I will wait for an explanation as to why he chose to do that.

Guys, really, don't call him dumb. Mike77 didn't give all the details. Maybe this guy needs cash for other things, thats what happens when you get older guys.

Its hard to find people who want IR3's for their Lasoya, seeing as they can get 05 Speeds for their lasoya + some cash. With the Ion he probly has about 200- 300 dollars left over for him to screw around with.

well...i really cant vouch for IR3's their heavy, COPS sucks, stock trigger is the dumbest trigger idea ever, and well its just not that great IMO...dont get me wrong, back in the day it was great, but its old and outdated, not to mention really heavy as compared to say the ion. I really could never pull above 13 bps on an IR3, the trigger guard area just wasnt enough and restricted me, while the ion i can rail on all day...

the only reason IR3's are reguarded as good is because its an angel and angels are good. If it wasnt for being WDP manufacture it would be nothing today...

face it the ion may actually be better.

pros of ion over ir3:
1. lighter
2. trigger space
3. ramping/full auto, various firing modes
4. eye on the ion > COPS
6. smaller
possible number 7: faster, depends on user though

cons:
1. IR3 has LCD, reprogrammable board
2. IR3 has a higher cap
3. Ion is composite (see: high grade plastic)
4. IR3 is more upgradable
5. WDP


to tell you the truth I would personally take an Ion over and IR3...
