View Full Version : i need FIRE POWER!!!!!!

specter542

if i get a RT, will i need a motorized hopper? ive heard stories but idk what to believe:crazy:
and, besides the RT and Ebolt, is there any other upgrade that will increase fire power? im lookin for Fast, reliable, accurate shooting. i mean, the 98c is a dream for me and i LOOOOOOOVE my gun, but ive put in about $80 in upgrades (14" smartparts progressive barrel and PB drop forward) but i wanna get an upgrade that will really "hit the nail on the head" when it comes to fire power on the field. i know upgrades dont make the player.

Get the RT. The Ebolt is waaaaay too expensive. Get the RT fr $80 and a $40 motorized hopper. You will need one. I would be shocked if you havent had a ball leading problem with the stock marker.

Motorized hopper is a must with any high rof marker.

Or, you could spend $0.00 on this easy-as-hell mod: simply take the marker apart, and take out the trigger spring. Put it back together, gas it up, and PRESTO, you are firing about 12 BPS with a fast trigger finger...beware, you still need a 12 Volt Revvy (9 Volts are wastes of $$$, they don't feed fast enough, and the 12 Volt is only 10 bucks more).

Does taking out the trigger spring actually work well?

specter542

i was gonna say the same thing. does it actually work?!
ebolt, ye wayyyyyy to expensive for me.:eyes:

If you want fire power & accuracy, the only way to go is the E-bolt. With the RT, the gun is still a blowback. The downfall of a blowback is it's kick. You can add HPA & regs. and you'll still have kickback. With the E-bolt, the firing works from a pneumatic ram and it pretty much eliminates all kick. Try shooting one and you'll see what I'm talking about.

For a little more than the Ebolt System you can buy a used stock Cocker. Not that it will fire any faster but the E is just tooooooo expensive.

i'd say just go for the rt. the ebolt sounds great but it's TOO FREAKIN' EXPENSIVE!!! and u really really need a motorized hopper.

PaintballerX
01-03-2002, 10:00 AM
Yeah, it really works. My trigger pull is about 1.5 mm and like 4 oz. coupled with another mod!

specter542
01-03-2002, 10:53 AM
i know, the ebolt looks sweet *** hell. but, aprox. $200 is ALOTTA money!! i could buy another 98custom, and another 14" smartparts progressive barrel with 20 bucks to spare){in order as listed--->($125+$55)-->$180 plus $20 left over!
not to criticize you, which im not, the Ebolt issssssss way outta my price range. i think the ebolt, AND response trigger are WAYYYYYY over priced. most tippmann accesories as are, but i LOVE the company, and i LOVE my 98c. it is byfar, the most reliable, dependable, accurate, FUN AS HELL, sportiest gun i've ever owned. i actually saw, "i have a 98custom" with of pride.
I AM PROUD TO OWN A TIPPMANN! but $20 for a 2x trigger and $90 for a responce trigger and like $200 for the ebolt are outrageous. but ver all, paintball is an expensive sport, and i am still playing.
thanks

i think paint grenades are WAY over priced. they really are a waste. i mean, lugging a grenade launcher around, for could anyone manuver in bunkers?! it is a waste. $300 for the launcher, and like $6.50 for grenades. that would eat air likea mo'fo.
but, i took out my trigger spring, but haven't played with it out yet. DOES IT INCREASE FIRERATE!? or does it just make the trigger jiggle, (which it does) but not improve Rate of fire?

get these three things

1. 12v revvy w/ x-board
2. rt kit
3. power feed. they have a pro-team(i have)and they make a lapco powerfeed that allows you to still us your sight. this upgrade has helped my gun considerably.

specter542

ive seen the lapco powerfeed. but i don't like my hopper stickin out to the side. but the 12v xboard and the RT are what i am lookin at now.

ok listen jerk, i dont need u being cynical. considering ive had my 98c for less than a month, im new to the setup. its noting like my 32 degress. calm down. some people are too tense. take the dildo outa ur *** and calm down. it seems u've found urself lost in thought, (its an unfamiliar territory for him)

Villhime98c
01-13-2002, 12:25 PM
Calm down Carson, first of all if you want to increase your rate of fire, get a 12v revvy. Then if I were you I'd look into an RT trigger, thats the next thing I wanna get.

specter542
01-13-2002, 02:25 PM
ok all i want is faster shooting. gettin a 12v is nice, but it wont increase my rate of fire. i mean geeez. i think im gona get a 9v revy and use that and in june, for my bday, or when i get enough money, i'll buy a RT. but for now, i think i'll get a motorized hopper (maybe a 9v) and a RT later.
-sPecTer

SpYdEr_RyDeR
01-13-2002, 02:40 PM
actually, I would get a 9v and a turborev board, they increase the rof more than a 12v and are like $20. As far as RT goes, I saw a kid with an RT on his gun and it didnt impress me any, when I first saw it, I was like dude sweet, and then I saw him shoot it and it didnt do too much, although when he was firing it there wasnt any puffs of co2 coming out the barrel, I think that the RT uses the co2 that would be wasted out the barrel, I couldnt even tell he was shooting, it was sweet, but as far as ROF goes, I wouldnt do it.

specter542
01-14-2002, 05:39 PM
with my 14" smartparts barrel, the co2 flash is next to nothing. but what im looking for is fire power. i dont think they would charge people $80 for something that didn't work. thanks for the reply tho. what is a ROF???

ROF = Rate Of Fire

specter542
01-15-2002, 07:00 AM
o ok, thanks. thought he meant RT. but i think he was talkin smack because as my friend just said, if tuned rite, the RT can shoot 3 rounds bursts.

I've had the oppotunity to play games with an RT and I've found that a fast trigger finger is better. Sure it shoots fast, but a high rate of fire doesn't mean you'll hit anything. My double trigger is just as fast as an RT. You would be amazed at how fast it can shoot. If you get an w/o getting some kind of revvy, you're garenteed to chop balls, making your high ROF useless.

BTW, don't bother with a 12v revvy, wait for the ricochet AK, it only uses one 9v and will be priced the same. It also bounced more balls off it.

specter542
01-15-2002, 04:37 PM
[QUOTE] It also bounced more balls off it.

im not quite sure what u mean there. i have seen the AK and it looks kickass. in might just get the 2x trigger. but i'd like for the price to go down. i mean, $20!!! thats kinda rediculous. im the kinda person that i'll only spend lotsa $ when i need it, aka $60 for my barrel. i wanted that really bad and it works magnificantly. if u get a 2x trigger will i need a motorized hopper. u put "if u get and w/o u will need......" i think u did a type-o. no biggy. thanks. keep on posting!!
-sPecTer

Silencer.1
01-15-2002, 05:19 PM
Yeah my typing sux.

I meant to say that you should get the ricochet ak when it comes out. It is a much better value than the revvys because it feeds just as fast, but with half the battery cost over time. The deflection design deflects many balls when they hit to boot.

I also meant that if you get the rt you'll need a motorized hopper to feed it or it will chop balls like a blender. I don't think $20 for a 2x trigger is all that bad. It works very well and is made of very tough composite. I paid $25 for mine. You'll still need some sort of revvy, but not right away since YOU control the ROF and not the gun (that's the main reason I don't like the RT).

specter542
01-16-2002, 10:24 AM
my typing probably parallels yours, i sux too. anyways, you made a valid point about the player controling the ROF and not the gun. yea, $20 bucks isn't much standing alone,, but like $8 per month for air, $50 permonth for paint, it starts to burn a hole in ur wallet, but im gonna get the 2x trigger. u've convinced me enough. thanks

Only $58 a month total. You only play every other week I take it. I usually end up going through 2 cases of paint, but my air is free. That makes my costs at $100 month + upgrades. Of course I play every weekend for at least 2 hours.

we do play twice a month and play for like 4hours. lol. we have a field and some huge woods. well considering im only 15, unemployed and living with parents (hehe im still i skool) i only get like $40-$50 a month by cuttin grass. with our busy skool schedule, we dont have time to play EVERY weekend.

Also, I'm not trying to make an enemy with you, but you really need not cuss like you do. Ok If your gonna get an RT Trigger, your going to need the 12volt Revolution hopper with a Turbo or X board and Vortex Impellers just to keep up with the RT. And you will need a nitrogen system because C02 will freeze the gun off and have severe droppoff due to the high ROF. Dont get an RT untill you have A reg, nitrogen, and a Revvy.

As for the Double Trigger, get a TOXIC Performance double trigger from www.countypaintball.com, they're metal and the fastest on the market and yes you will need a Revvy with that.

To be honest, I have no idea if the no-spring mod would work with an RT. It doesn't seem to me that there would be a reason why it wouldn't...I dunno, though. Any idea, guys? I'm interested now as well, I'd like to know...help him out! By the way, with a single trigger I can damn near outshoot a regular 200-round hopper...with a double trigger I chopped a few balls 'cause I didn't know I needed one...now I have one, and I haven't looked back since!

I think you need the 12volt revy first!!! Then the vertical adapter kit and a expansion chamber if you are running Co2.

I was out shooting the stock hopper with just the stock trigger! Got the 12volt revy, no problems now with feeding balls.

I also don't see why a RT is needed I can pull my trigger finger pretty darn fast as is, my problem was the balls not feeding fast enough.

Have read about changing out the trigger spring with a pen spring, I might try that next time I take the gun apart!

I play with a guy that has a RT on his 98, I can't tell the difference between his gun or any of the other M98C's we play with. JMHO!

That's cool Spector,

Just wanted to relay too many times while charging or being charged I shot just co2 instead of paintballs. Picked up the 12volt now I don't just shoot co2. It didn't happen all the time but at a few critical times and I was taken out.

Most people do say you need a 12volt when running a RT kit though. Good luck with your choice!

Just a little tip, if you're going to have the RT, I'd use and expansion chamber. 'Cause when i first got mine without an expansion chamber, it was shootin' chunks-o-C02. So either an X-Chamber or a remote with that RT.

JDS
01-24-2002, 06:48 PM
Sorry Specter about how I spelled your name. I was just too lazy to go back and check the spelling, figure I was close!

My set up is a M98C with the Tippman vertical adapter and a tippman exp. chamber with a PB x-core exp. chamber screwed into the ASA which my coiled remote connects to. I also have a 12volt revy and a 12" 32 degrees nyte stick barrel, maddman spring kit, BS spee-t cocker, custom stock and Lapco RVA this is all powered by a 20oz. co2 with a custom camo paint job.

I'll try be clearer, I was out shooting my stock hopper with the stock trigger set up the balls wouldn't drop fast enough, thats why I got the 12volt revy.

Also was trying to say I can throw alot of paint down range with the stock trigger as long as the balls feed fast enough.

Plus I think you need a vertical adapter and a exp. chamber first to help feed Co2 to that RT kit you want. This will also help with your Co2 effciency.

I also think you should try the pen spring or no trigger spring idea, I'm going to try this the next time i take the gun apart already have some pen springs in my tool kit!

One problem I see with the double trigger you also talked about getting is try to hold your M98C in one hand using only your thumb and the two bottom fingers (because the other two are on the double trigger). I find I need three figures and the thumb to hold the gun and fire one hand when running and firing to cover my butt when bugging out of a position (and my Co2 tank is in my buttpack). Just a thought, that's why I don't have the double trigger upgrade after thinking about how I play it just wouldn't work for me.

Hope this is clearer and helpfull!

Hush Shazaam, I was excited when I first got my double trigger. Specter, I don't know if you've it or not on yours, but on mine the safety wouldn't go in when the 2X Trigger was on. If this is happening to you, do this: as you are closing the gun up, hold down the trigger as you fit the halves together. The safety should go in just enough to work (about halfway). This was the farthest I could get it in.

Don't wanna dish out teh dough for an RT or E-bolt, and don't wanna spend $20 on a double trigger? Then you can pick up a Psycho Ballistics double trigger for like $13 or so at countypaintball.com. The Tippmann version is only like $15. With the PB, you get a wider trigger, and you don't have to cut your grips to use the guard.

Hey Specter,

If you'd like to take a look at my M98C go to my buddies site below. Go to players I'm John S. (JDS). Also you can see what he has done for our players info. (You can see we don't use full names)

I need to update my profile though all the info there isn't right.

Specter,

Go ahead and post the pic, the tippman exp. chamber has been replaced with a WGP ergo regulator now, I haven't gotten that painted yet need to get some fittings and a shorter hose too.

Looking into a new barrel too either a 14" 32 degrees whisper or a j&j& pro 1 hope to make a decision so I have it for our next gameday!

You might have me talked into that double trigger too, have to let us know how it works out in the field after your first gameday with it.:D

Specter, man, I hate to say it but: this thread is gone. HISTORY! Just leave it alone, and QUIT BUMPING IT! You have got all the information out of it that's possible, and all that it has become is a flame-war battleground. LEAVE IT ALONE AND QUIT BUMPING! It's getting really annoying. :)

ok well,
i've basically come to my verdict.
First: i'd like to get a Responsive trigger for my birthday.(june9th)
second: while im having fun playin w/ my RT 98custom, and enjoing my summer job. im gonna save up enough to get EITHER a AUTOCOCKER, or a Ebolt. :D :D :D :D im askin for a RT and a rikochet for my birthday. so that if i get a auto cocker, i already have a motorized hopper.
however, this doesn't mean i want u all to stop posting!keep posting

Yeah. I'd be asking for a HALO or a 12 Volt with a X-Board. And as far as getting a E-bolt after and RT,I don't see why. Just get a better gun. That's what I'm going to do. Either that or just save up for the E-bolt.

Check out this link, a bunch of us are working on making our own E-trigger. Im working on one that just gives you semi- and turbo modes (turbo, for the uninformed out there, is when you fire when you pull the trigger in, and it fires again when you release the trigger.) Im using a very simple design that will cost less than $50! I mean its a better upgrade than the respose trigger, and more functional than the E-bolt, and cheaper than both to boot. WARNING: Read this link when you have a little time to spare, as its 28 pages long. I have recently become quite active in this, looking forward to my completion of it. Just started wiring my timing circuit last night.

hey I've been thinking about making my own electro trigger also. I haven't put anything together yet, I've been just formulating it in my mind. I need some kind of electronic piston that would push the sear when you pull the trigger. Vertigotech, you should make your own thread about this topic.
