Hey, I have a CP one piece 14 inches and i get a lot of barrel breaks, i use decent but not cheap paint with medium bores and i am gettin fed up of having to use my squeegee more than my trigger. So should i keep my CP and keep trying new paint, or would i have better luck with a Lapco Bigshot? also, is the lapco bigshot, i kno its loud, but is it picky with paint? tell me anything good or bad about the bigshot please. thank you

I actually happen to own both of the barrels that you mentioned above..the bigshot and the Custom products (mine is the 16" stainless steel), so i might be able to help ya out.
To tell you the truth i have never really had any major problems with breakage with my CP, maybe 5 or 6 per case on average. The paint i usually go with is Team Colors and Midnights (both medium bore paints).
The bigshot is not a picky barrel when it comes to paint. Ive shot everything from Blaze, proball, team colors, midnights, viewloaders and even Brass eagles and have never had a single break with my Bigshot ! no lie.
If you play alot of cold weather ball with some crappy paint, yes no matter what kind of barrel you own, you will experience balls breaking. If thats the case, you might want to check out some Polar Ice or TC winter fill balls and shoot a few of those through your CP barrel and see how she does.

Skipjacks, if i were you, i'd keep the cp. I have one for my old spyder, and i never break a ball. (im serious). but, if you can find anything wrong with the cp, send it back to custom products, and have them send you a new one. Oh, one more thing-chech your bolt. the majority of paint breaks in spyders is the bolt, not the barrel. hey, i put a shocktech bolt in, and it broke paint left and right-and when i took it out-no more breaks.
good luck
