Hey guys, I'm new to paintball and really want a barrel that will have minimal spin. I absolutely hate having a ball heading straight for a person, and then spin off in a different direction. I've been hearing that the J&J Ceramic barrel and CP barrel are good... But which one is more versatile for speedball and woodsball? In speedball, I want to be able to snipe from 100-150 feet, basically from my team's starting bunker to the opposing team's bunker. What barrel and length would you guys recommend for good sniping and close range shots? Thanks in Advance.

Easy with the term sniping on here. People who don't play woodsball regularly wouldn't know exactly what you mean by sniping, and would be quick to flame you because their idea of sniping is from 1000 yards. I however understand what you mean because I am a sniper on a woodsball semi-pro team.
I would have to say your best bet for a "sniper" barrel would be the J&J barrels. I've heard a few people using dye boomstick barrels (over $100) on their guns who claim that their J&J barrels shoot just as accurately. The j&j barrels have plenty of porting so they won't be very loud. You should be able to get off a few shots before the enemy knows where you are due to the fact that they are quiet. I would recommend any of these, at a length of 14" simply because at that length you are getting the maximum amount of accuracy. I have heard many a player say that anything over 14" is a waste, and I feel this way as well. Longer tends to get in your way, and limit your ability to maneuver. Your lucky because as of right now pbgear.com is having a sale on their j&j edge barrel kits for $69.95. You can take a look at it here>> http://www.actionvillage.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/DisplayProductInformation-Start;sid=EDeCBF5rU1mCdhxTkxNCrFTNtXc32PHEYUI=?Pro ductID=_evAqArbumIAAAEBO491B7ri

The barrel kit rates a 9.6 with 37 reviews. I just recently got one, they are very nice.

Actually, barrels over 14" have a purpose. In speedball, you can push air bunkers so you can shoot while maintaining a smaller profile, and in woodsball, you can move brush and shoot around it easier with a slightly longer barrel. Yes, over 14" will slightly decrease efficiency, but not enough to make a noticeable difference. Also, if your balls are curving, it may be because your velocity is too high or low.
Sniping in speedball seems impractical to me, because of the fast paced nature of play, but hey, if you can get people out that way, who am I to criticize;)

I'm using a 14" teardrop that's incredibly accurate, but I don't have much experience with different barrels so...

I play it with a 12", I can't imagine one less inch making it that much more difficult.
