1:if your barrel is more than 16 inches ling, your wasting air
2:From what ive heard, if you take a cloth and wrap it around the barrel and cover up the little holes on it, it will seem louder to you, but quieter to everyone in front of you
3:The j&j ceramic barrel is a barrel and a squeege. it cleans itself after a break. Seriously consider buying it.
4:Barrel kits are just a waste of money, why do you need 5 barrels at $100 when you can get a j&j ceramic for 30?

for number 4, so they can use different size paintballs with the same barrel, so they have more accuracy and more effeciency

And for 4, different threads, lengths, and bore sizes can come in handy in different situations.

Wrong... If you buy the same fresh paint everytime you play you dont need a kit. Secondly, J&J arent that great.
Dye barrel, or Stiffi! Period.(If you insist on getting a kit buy backs for the Dye barrel, or get the pipe or stiffi switch)
ok sometimes its good to have a long barrel like for airball. but yes it is wasteing air. why would you put cloth on your barrel? that would just make it harder to aim. no barrel self cleans. some shoot shrough cleans better than others, but no barrel is a barrel and a squeegee in one. and IMO there is no barrel worth buying if it is not a kit. ok you have a 1500 dollar gun. you go to a feild. you buy the paint they have (lets just day they have one kind of paint). it doesnt fit your barrel. well your screwed. your going to get worse efficency, and your going to shoot bad. i would ratherplay with a 300 dollar gun wit ha good barrel than that inacureate 1500 dollar thing you have. teh key to accuracy is paint to barrel match. with a kit you always have a good match. meaning always good accuracy. if it is not a kit, nomatter what barrel, if the paint does not fit you might as well be using a spyder stock barrel. yeah yeah if you buy the same paint every time. i have nevr, ever gone paintballing where i went to a store and they had the exact same paint every time. most of the time, you dont even know what size the paint untill you bore size. so your taking a gamble. before you go off and buy halos and profiler masks, take atleast 120 bucks and buy yourself a quality kit. accuracy is one the of the most important things you could have in this game. and i dissagree withthat statement i have a J&J edge and it is fabulous. most ppl with one will tell you teh same. ive had ppl with pipes and freaks shoot my gun and they seaid it shot very nice.
