View Full Version : gun question
do guns in the price range of 100-180 dollars not work well in the cold?? when it warms up will the gun work better???
thanks mike
Most guns will not work well on CO2 in the cold. If you want them to work in cold climates switch to compressed air/N2. That is the major difference. If you can't afford that, get a good expansion chamber, reg, and anti-siphon tank....and hope for the best. Guns tend to work better in warmer temperatues while running both because CO2 will stay a liquid in cold temps, and constant Air tanks lose pressure as they cool down. Gotta love physics. I don't recomend shooting outdoor much below freezing because your paint can freeze, and the causes a whole new world of problems anyway.

You havent lived until you've played paintball in the snow :) . Of course, I think I'd be taking out my Spyder and leaving the Intimmy with the electonics in the warm house. N2 still works good in the cold though, you just have to refill more often. Much better than fiddling around with a bottle full of liquid CO2.

Nitro is cheaper in the long run.If you spend 50 bux on an expansion chamber, and 6 bux for an antisyphon tube, plus 3 bux for a nine ounce fill(which wont last too long).
Spend the 89 bux,and watch your marker perform smoothly in cold weather. It's paying to avoid frustration.

The only problem I see is he might not have anywhere close to fill his Nitro! :) tank.

If you live in an area where all the local fields dont fill nitro, you still may be able to get your compressed air filled at a scuba shop. There's always alternatives :). But then again, a scuba shop may be hard to find if you live in wisconsin...
would the nitro tank hook up to the piranha sts g2?? or would i have to make mods??
do u have to refill nitro alot??
