A Pirahna has more upgrades available. But, a Tippy can very easily be ugrade to a tourny 'gun. Tippmann has a team that uses tricked 98C's. Here would be an example of a tourney 'gun:
98C
Double Trigger w/ Guard
E-Bolt
10-12" Boomy, CP, etc. barrel
LP Kit
Nitro
New Bolt
Motorized Hopper

They would also have some kind of sealed cocking system, e.g. Full Boar or Rocket Cock. Forgot to add that.

Hate to break it to you, but the E-bolt kit is a sealed cocking system. you can't have an e-bolt and a rocket cock or a full boar. T

Execpt u can only use guns on semi-auto in tournys so whats the paint of spending $250 on an e-bolt

NoNames: You're correct, the E-Bolt is sealed. However, you could take off the cover that comes with it and drop in a Rocket Cock (I'm sure of that) or a Full Boar system (not so sure).
Ferret: Okay, your head isn't screwed on too straight apparently. Think about it: Angels are used in tournaments! ANGELS ARE ELECTRONIC, FULLY-AUTOMATIC MARKERS! But, you are only allowed to use the semi-automatic firing mode. Even then you fire faster than with a non-electro marker. So, you see, it would be a great asset for the tourney player, especially in this day and age of SPEEDBALL, SHOOT A WHOLE LOTTA PAINT IN ONE SECOND tourneys.

You are wrong there, Angels shoot faster in semi-mode than an RT Trigger. And, by the way, the reason an E-Bolt is better than an RT System is because the RT still produces blowback, which for a tournament player=bad. The reason why you want to keep blowback to a minimum (which the E-Bolt does) is because blowback causes paint to bobble up in the hopper, causing more ball chops. Have you ever watched a pro player clean out his 'gun after a ball break? It is as funny as an episode of the Simpsons, 'cause there is just no way to do it completely on the field. That, my friend, is the reason why you would want an E-Bolt on your Tippy.

whay dont you just get a cocker for $350 as opposedd to 98 custom- $125 + ebolt $250 cause cockers shoot really fast and are not blowback guns

and anyway it all depends how fast you pull the trigger I think RT's are faster than angles, but it all depends on who is pulling the trigger

Actually RTs for m-98s are not allowed in most tournies.

I've read NPPL tourny rules and i think that they are allowed in NPPL tournys

sorry but you thought wrong. they are not allowed because they are too reactive. the magRT's are still allowed thou.
blowback is the reason RT's are bad, but you have the totally wrong reason. blowbacks will have slight differences in velocity and airlfow because the bolt hitting the valve will always differ a little. a solenoid can be precisely timed, so you will have better consistency. better consistency=better accuracy. especially if you are running regulated HPA (regged co2 works too).
even if you have the ebolt, you will stil have blowback coming back thru the hopper. this kind of blowback will cause feeding problems as stated. having a venturi bolt (or any bolt without an oring) can caused increased blowback (venturi bolts dont work on tippmanns or mags anyway) because there is no direct seal around the barrel and more gas will get through and escape out the hopper

Actually, I had it right. But you have it right too, just in a different way from what I was thinking. And no, RT's are NOT allowed in tourneys! Oh yeah, by the way, did you mean that venturi bolts don't work on 98's and 'Mags or they aren't made for them?
