Dude, when things hurt bad, and I mean REALLY bad, like you might be describing. SEE A DOCTOR, if its killin ya and affecting your play better get it checked out!
Is it swollen? Red? If it is might wanna ice it. I'd make an appointment with a doctor and make sure to stay off of it (i.e. no paintball, or well, you cant kneel, gotta eat a couple balls ;) ) and rest up.
Do you wear kneepads when you play? Might also wanna consider getting yourself a good pair of those if ya dont! If its hurting THROUGH the knee pads, then DEFINATELY see a doctor!
Take care bro!

I would go see a doctor. I have been blessed with tendenitis in both knees, so I am not really able to kneel. Even though that is somewhat serious, it never hurts really bad. I have a high tolerance for pain as well ( I always play in t-shirt, and shorts if I can) and I know that feeling you are talking about. Go get it looked at. It might be something serious.
