Its just a VM-68 with a few mods on it. Now you can buy a spyder rigged like that too.

The reason the loader and co2 are so small is it was made for SWAT and Coast Guard traning. to simulate the normal size clips and limited rounds.

i was thinkng that military would rather use airsoft instead of pb for training.....

Nope,

they use lazer mostly, but paintball is used in close combat like on ships or teaching room to room. much easer and can give instant show of where your shots went.

ATS makes them
you are looking at spending about 1200-1900 for one. IF you can gegt ATS to sell you one. Normaly they only sell the AT-10 and AT-85 to the public

also there is a few companies that are converting spyders to look like that now

1200 Bucks? I bet it isn't even Automatic. If i had that kind of cash to throw around, i would ditch my autococker and buy an Angel. BTW I don't like spyders:pissed:

what the heck are you guys talkin about? that gun is not made by advanced tactical systems. It is made by www.gun-fx.com, a cheap vm-68 with an M16-a2 front & rear sight, stock, front handguard, and delta ring assembly. It costs about 300 bux to make, and they sell it for 800, what a ripoff. The gun is semi-auto, and is just like a vm-68 in every way; a piece of crap.

if you want an M16 lookalike, you get an AT4 or AT16 from www.adtacsys.com . It is select fire via flip swith (full-auto/semi-auto at the flip of a lever) the gun is THE most accurate production model marker on the market. it is also clip fed (no dumb lookin hopper to ruin the look.

That militairy style stuff is what ruins paintball it gives it a bad image to newbies, parents, and the general public. Makes it harder for paintballers to get the respect they deserve.
P.S.- If you aucually want to see a militairy wanna-be site that manufactures guns like that got to www.rustyspaintballgear.com

Finn,

Don't be a idiot ok. Military look paintball markers are just as big a part of paintball as speedball with all its colors. I personaly own 8 markers from my bushy2k to my ATS AT-85, to my spyder. Some look miliatary some don't.

The point is, its judgements like yours that will bring down our sport. Try supporting ALL paintball not just your narrow, bigoted, closeminded, uninformed views.

FinnMcKool
02-04-2002, 11:26 AM
yea buddy some militairy wanna be with camo face paint on and a $3000 modified spyder or tippy is really gonna give paintball a good image to the public and newbies. wonder why some parents don't want their kids to get in volved maybe its so they won'y have to talk to these lamers :pissed:

finn how old are you 15 mabey?

Paintball started as a survivle game. Speedball and such is a new thing to the sport, however there is plenty of room for all in our sport.

The one and only thing that is going to have people calling our sport "war like" or wanting to keep their kids away. Will be the closeminded, uneducated views like yours!

Do us, and our sport a favor, sell your marker, and go play baseball. If you can not find a way to bring all into the folds of our sport, then you are the problem not the cure.

FinnMcKool
02-04-2002, 11:37 AM
i'm perfectly fine with woods games and speedball i see no problem with either of them what i do see a problem with is militairy wanna-bes that get guns that look like a m16 or somthing and act all macho-like.
most woods games are played with guns like spyders too not neccesarily militairy like guns
P.S. I may only be 15 but my i.q. is probably double yours.

look child, this will be my last post to you.

It is easy to see you have never gone to a 24 hour game. That is EXACTLY why markers that look "real" are made. Despite the looks they still are just that. Markers, they fire paint useing air or co2.

Now take your uneducated 15 year old views and go play pokemon or barbie or whatever it is you kids do now. It is quite clear you are not mature enough to play paintball.

FinnMcKool
02-04-2002, 11:44 AM
oh yea
f.y.i. (if you know what that means) the first paintball gun was the nel-spot 007 it wasn't a militairy-like gun

FinnMcKool
02-04-2002, 11:48 AM
and i have attended 24-hour scenario games. your last post makes no scense you can still use any other marker not just a marker that looks "real"

Guys dont get :pissed: :pissed: PO'd at each other!!! You guys give PAINTBALL A BAD IMAGE!!!! LOL!
After reading your post some parents might say to their kids "You see Thomas paintball makes you get a bad attitude and become mean that is why you are never going paintballing again!!!"

SERIOUSLY ITS NO BIG DEAL IF YOU LIKE A MARKER OR NOT!!!!

I agree with Finn that its not that big of a deal to get a marker that looks similar to an assault rife!!!! STOP! AND BE NICE AND RESPECT EACH OTHER!!!

yea I know I got heated,

its just children that should not be playing paintball like our friend there, piss me off to no end.

I spend alot of time working with local fields to get the pro's baned from play that show poor sportsmanship or distaist for other players.

and this guy steps up and exemplifies that exact attitude I and others work so hard to get baned from the sport.

i think that ptball guns like that would deff give ptball a bad name, just look at it, if my mom saw that shed march right down to the police and tell them they better ban paintball and show them what kind of wepons idiots like u want to use. i personally do think that those kind of paintball markers are just stupid to have and u should stopacting like god. go to bed and write a review later.;)

so what you are saying is,

You would not have the presence of mind to stop and sit your mother down. To use education and talk to explain the difference betwene markers and guns. To help explain how markers that might look like "real guns" have a place in 24 hour games, and in the use pursuit of our sport.

Gee, It strikes me that if you would not have the intelegence to act like a adult and do that, you don't have a place playing paintball at all.

Understand this, I am not defending the creation of "real gun" look markers. I am defending the right of all paintballers to have one if they wish it. We have a duty to our sport to keep ALL markers, games, and ways in the light. If you pick out one thing and go "no we dont want that" then you are no better than the person who stands there and says "paintball is a wargame"

If any person in our sport can't see the basic truth in what has been said. THey have zero reasons to be a paintballer. Turn around, sell your marker, Go pick up knitting needles or something.

Especialy now in this time of problem and terror our world has spun into. We as paintballers have a obligation to stand up as one and say "we wont alow anyone to intimidate us"

Chew on that for a bit.

Whats their purpose in 24h games?

I agree with McKool. If you want to call us all newbie child idiots thats fine with me. believe whatever you want to.

paintball guns that look real are cool, i would buy one if i had the money. but dont bring it to a field or whatever, because parents and such would NOT like that at all and would give us a bad name.

There is no single facet or concept that "gives paintball a bad name." That judgement is solely in the minds of those people who choose to label paintball as "bad." These paint markers with the appearance of guns might attract some people into the sport, and once here, they may realize that it's not all about the equipment, but about sportsmanship and team play. That would be a good thing. The people who are scared away by the superficial decorations of these paint markers are entitled to close their minds toward our sport. They can turn around whenever they want to. If someone you care about is prejudiced in this way, however, then you can try and change their minds, but don't push too hard. We're not gonna force anyone to love this game.

Though, Finn and those who agree with Finn are entitled to those opinions as well. With opinions, there is no right or wrong. It's clear from the number of unsuccessful attempts to set him straight that his mind isn't going to change no matter what you say. So we can all just agree to disagree and enjoy the pretty pictures.

I know but what a 24 hour game is wasn't my question. I want to know whyyou can't use a regular marker in a scenario game.

well ... you can use any gun in scenario games ... but having a marker that looks like a gun that you would use in a real scenario or mission would get you more in to the game ..... thats all

OK, let me explain why one might like a gun like that. I am going to buy a CAR Foregrip and modify it to fit on my Tippmann...The big reason I am doing this is it gives me a forerail where I can mount a flashlight, a foregrip, a laser sight, a camera, etc. And yes the laser sight is useful as it alows you to fire rom the hip. No you do not use it to tell you where the paintnball is going to go, it just tells you the correct horizontal axis of the gun.

I actually need the foregrip because I need to mount the accessories cause I play ALOT of night games with my friends....

Just my veiwpoint, I cant make you accept but I can lay it out there for consideration.

I'm w/ BEAR...the only reason I got into paintball is b/c I feel like I'm in a war...I wear all army camo and we only play woods games...I would love to mod a gun to look like that. What's the difference between that and an airsoft gun which looks almost exactly like the real thing? That's what's wrong with America...the ****ing LIBERALS think it's bad when we use paintball guns that reseamble real firearms...but it's ok for ppl to be homosexuals, and it's also ok for ppl to use abortion as birthcontrol...I don't care who's mom says what...if I wanna shoot a paintball gun that looks like an M-16 or an MP5, I will. People blow this stuff way out of proportion...they are paintball guns!

hey numbnutz..think logically...even though it may look liek the real thing i believe any sane person on this planet can be shown that its just a .68 caliber paintball gun...it would take an idiot to thing that a realistic looking gun is any more dangerous than a paintball marker stock....its like saying red water balloons are more dangerous than yellow...in reality cosmetics make your ouwn personal identity but will never change performance
