Ok i need a new barrel and im deciding about a equasion or a freak! Does the equasion come in a 10 inch barrel? I know the freak does. Im a rusher on my team and i need to get in and out of my bunkers smoothly. So tell me what barrel i should get and y?

There are only 20 reviews on this site, as I'm sure you can see, but the barrel system from Equation scored a perfect 10, so far. You can purchase the pro set from http://www.equationusa.com, but be sure to get the appropriate teflon inserts for bore sizes. ;)

There is also a good selection of muzzles - you can see them on the site. :D

The barrel without an extension is 6 inches, and the smallest extension is 6 inches, so the smallest total barrel size available for purchase is 12 inches.

Now that I've looked at it, this looks like an awesome system, and when I buy my Intimidator, I'll probably buy this set.

Hope this helps.

if i ever buy another barrel (besides a lapco, hehe) it would be one of those bizerks barrels. i think those look soo sweet and they come with 3 inserts for only $75, i also like a small setup and i like the idea of an 8" inch barrel . . . thats sweet!

yea the equation barrels are awsome. They are one of our sponsers and the guy is a great person to deal with. Its almost like he is building them in his backyard but they are awsome. Dont get a JJ barrel. they sent us ceramic barrels before a tourny last year and we ended up dropping their sponsership because we tried out the barrels and they weren't that great. hmm... u didn't say jj..oh well get equation

But the reason i dont reeally want a Equation is because its a 12 inch barrel. And a Freak is a 10 inch. I rush on my team i move up to the snake or sub at the beginning. Im afraid that the 12 inch will be to big.Well is the Freak better then the equation?? I hear they both are great barrels. I would definitley get the equation if they cam in a 10 inch. Well thanks for ur help so far.

well my friend BlackMageHell on pbreview just got his equation and you can ask him anything about it because he's done a lot of research on the two. Last he told me the equation multi switch pro system shoot just as good if not better than the freak and is cheaper.

u should prolly ask him.....
personally i shot and loved the freak... the freak is also a better looking barrel.

Yeah, I know, I saw that last night and was blown away. I only wish they where a little longer but thats still a sweet buy. I told a friend to check it out and he is getting one too!

People say Up and Bump to move topics to the head of the list. Its mostly done by sellers trying to attract more buyers.

i think the the whole insert thing gets way too much hipe it is just like having a 4 inch barlle i would go for a CP Pro kit personals IMO

People say "Bump" and "Up" because it is a codeword that lets me know they want the thread closed...

I've never tried the equation, but have heard really good things about them. I have tried and do own a freak, and can say they're the best barrel(s) I've ever had a chance to use, and that includes boomers, CPs, JnJs and a few others. If looks matter, get the Freak :) If looks don't matter, then well I can't realy give much help, hehe

I finally got to try out my Equation MS, and I was amazed. Extremely accurate and very well made. The inserts are made of stainless steel and are very durable.

ok her is the dilly.

Yes the smalles size is 12 inches. BUT that is with the breec, the extension, and the muzzle. That is what i am going to buy one i get the money.

no the catch is that you can screw in the Muzzle, into the Breech. Now this creates a 61/2" barrel. Now you prolly are skeptical. This HAS been tried by various people. Check out the equation forums, everyone says that when they use this small barrel, alll that they loose is a little range and some efficiency. This is perfect in speedball.

If you still have doubts, go pick up a bizerk, you can get it with 3 inserts and i have heard it is the best speedball barrel on the market.

Definatley go equasion. They have great customer service, and every barrel that you buy from them is made after you place the order. They don't mass preoduce there products, unlike a certain smart parts i know. Go equasion. You'll love them.

p.s. Dont buy a blue ms, or pro ms k? It is supposed to be a really ugly blue, not like the picture.

p.p.s. Give them time to answer your emails and get your order to you. They are a small company to say the least. So give them time and don't get worked up.

TTYL.

I think instead of the bizerk I will get the equation and buy as I go.

I've updated my review (http://home.stny.rr.com/planetatv/equation.htm) of the Equation MS (see the "Bad" and "Conclusion" sections for the updates). It is the same review that is linked to on the Equation website, although I imagine it won't be for long... I've unfortunately had some negative experiences with both the barrel and company.

Good luck!

is yours one of the first generation barrels? The new one have had some changes including the lebeling. I hope that they fixed your problem on these new ones.

It took 3 weeks and several emails... but I did end up getting the newer labeled inserts.

Good luck!

Yeah i heard those Custom Products kits were REALLY nice. Marauder, how much did you pay for your kit? thanx.

The full kits are pricey. 375$ for 5control bores and 4tips.

Look around though, you can easily get good deals on them. I did ;)

Marauder

yeah i got mine at really really good cost
less than $200 for 5 backs and 2 fronts 2 pieces shy of the full kit

Thats why i like the CP Pro so much .. I don't like the insert idea..i have seen way too many inserts slice up balls in the fream .. Im sure the equation MS is just like it..

What about the other barrel kits.. ACI PHAT and uh.. i think checkit has a kit out.. anyone have any comments?

I think there's a reason the insert idea has only been put to good use by smart parts. The simple fact is, that smart parts spent ALOT of money in startup for their freak line. It takes some very expensive machinery to hone an aluminum insert so thin to such high tolerances. If a company such as any of the competing insert barrels tries to do it without investing the same startup SP did, you'll have problems. I think that is why you get so many rumors about balls getting sliced up and messed up inserts. I've never had a ball break in my freak, excluding the times I jammed the barrel into the ground sliding and packed it full of dirt (at which point, any barrel will break). The freak is an excelent system, and I can't find any faults to it. I've never had any experience with the other barrel systems, so I can't comment on them

KMA did a big service by updating us on his problem with Equation's customer service.

I still believe the jury's still out on this system. I only own one of the older Equation multi-barrels but wasn't especially impressed with it. I still use my Freaks or Boomers depending on the situation. The Equation has the potential of being a good barrel. It definitely has a unique style. I'd like to see them support their product better though.
If you have decent paintballs and a reasonably good paint-to-barrel match you're going to do well with almost any barrel.
