my friend has one, and i will list the problems.
-Hopper Tube (the one that the hopper fits onto the gun with) fell out/ is loose.
-Wont fire some times
-plastic trigger
-instrustion book is in Japanese. (he had to take it to the shop to get the guys to put it back togeather)
-co2 hog (only about 2 hoppers on a 14 oz co2)
-Not a true LCD display. It only has a light that is green for safty off, red for saftey on, and off when gun is off.
-You need a new barrel (i guess all guns do)
Now, the Good.
-cheap for a electro gun
-outshoots my Piranaha (i can get 6 BPS, he can get 12 BPS)
thats about it.
i have no clue about the barrel and were to get it. good luck.
-the cocking rod dosent move outside the gun!

just save up and get a flash. If you accidently dropped your black dragon and cracked the frame or something you just wasted your money. The electro frame is made of plastic. If you got the flash its made by a good company and its made of steel

I really don't think that the Black Dragun has a platic frame.
plus I hear that its better than a spyder

how is it better than a spyder?? The black dragon is an EXACT copy of a spyders but with a plastic electro frame.

Do you mean that the gun frame is plastic or the grip frame?

I have a Black Dragun and I love it!
It's got drawbacks (not many typical 'lectro features for example) but it's a damn fine gun for $200.
And the frame is NOT plastic. The grips are plastic but aren't they all?
The whole gun is very like a Sypder. I hear they used the same manufacturers and stuff. The mount holes in the bottom of the frame are staggered in the dorky spyder fashion.
However, a friend that also has a black dragun bought some spyder replacement springs and they didn't work. Makes me nervous about buying other parts...
One more thing: an earlier poster mentioned that the tube thingy were the hopper goes (sorry; I'm a newbie and don't know the right word) is lose. That is strangely true. I have to tighten mine often (every two "play days" or so).

I own and use a Black Dragun. I guess I'd label myself a weekend warrior, as I try to head out to either Tombstone or SC Village as often as I can, Tombstone rocks. (I live in California). Let me list down some corrections to the misinformation given by people who are either bias, jellous, or simply too much into their favorite brand gun to really judge another gun by performance.
Ok, the Dragun's frame is aluminum, atleast as far as I can tell its aluminum, but its definately metalic. The only plastic on its frame are the grips, and the trigger. The plastic itself feels kinda weak, but its stronger then you think. The gun itself is pretty durable, I had a kid run smack right into me in the Trenches course at Tombstone paintball park in Pomona-Corona California. My gun fell to the dirt after being smashed by this dumb kid. Well I was pleased to see that my gun was unharmed, and fires perfectly. Luckily no scratches since it landed in moist dirt, I thought it would have been a goner, and thought I'd be going to jail for beating up some kid, but no need to kick someone's butt if there's no harm done, and ... no harm was done.
I don't know what some of these guys are talking about with their claims on the dragun not being a good gun. First off, it has never chopped a ball on me, unless of course I'm firing as fast as I can, since I don't have a revy, my hopper can't feed my gun as fast as I'm shooting, if it chops or doesn't fire anything its because of that, it will chop a ball as its going half into the chamber when I fire in that case. But if I fire in 3 round bursts, or not as fast (which is still faster then almost any other gun), it will not chop. I played all day at SC Village last sunday, not a single chop. As far as being a co2 hog. As with any high rate of fire gun that doesn't have a modified air system, if you fire fast as heck, you will have excess unused co2 that gets ejected out into the air since your gun cannot regulate the liquid co2 into gas as fast as its sending it out. Any gun that fires as fast as the dragun will have this problem if you fire it fast, including the flash, though the flash isn't really as good at the trigger as the dragun (I've shot the flash and shot the dragun, I can, without a doubt, say the dragun has the superior trigger). The gun is made entirely out of aluminum, just like the flash, the only plastic is the trigger and the grips which are pretty sturdy light weight plastics. I haven't had any problems with my vert feed, but for anyone who has any gun that is a lil loose when they first get it, just tighten it up with your screwdriver, allen wrench, or wrench. Sure the dragun doesn't look as pretty as the Flash, but the Dragun is faster, cheaper, more simple (less problems), just as customizable, just as reliable if not more (I have confidence in this gun). And after using it in various conditions, including cold temperatures, I will say that this gun is definately a gun to buy, it will match up to the high end guns like the angel's, cockers', mag's, but thats after a lil bit of work, like any gun.
In anycase the guys who were saying this gun sucks don't know anything about this gun. I suggest you go to your local shop, and ask if you can dry fire them both, and hold them both. See for yourself which gun you would choose. Thats all I can say. Its good to go right out of the box, you won't need to upgrade it if your just gonna be a rec player, but if you want to play a lil more, then just a barrel will do fine, and a 20oz CO2 tank. It works perfectly with co2, even in cooler then normal temperatures. But with all co2 guns, cooler temperatures still will effect performance slightly. This gun will just fair better then most.:P :P

due it is a 200$ electro do you honestly think it will be good?

Yea, I honestly believe it "is" a good gun for only $200. Ask anyone who works at a shop, the Dragun is worth the cash. I doubt anyone will have any complaints for real, aside from the plastic trigger. Thats the only thing that bothers me, cause yea... I've heard alot of horror stories with the plastic trigger, but, shouldn't be too much to purchase a sturdier trigger, and grips, concidering the price, if you were thinking of buying a Shutter, or a Flash, you're saving alot of cash you can use for immediate upgrades, and the gun is fast as hell as it is out the box. I leave it at that, peace out. Just check the gun out yourself at your local shop. See how you like it.

Yea Draguns are pretty darn cool. A lot cheaper then your other choices. I mean Dragun plus new trigger, Dye Stickies, nice expansion chamber(a good expansion chamber will increase CO2 shots by up to 5x) and a barrel cost like $400 max. Now that's cheaper then a Spyder Extra and an ELCD chucked onto it. Personally I'm crazy and would get a Brass Eagle Rain Maker and mod the heck out of it. For $400 you can get the rainmaker, new internals and some a nice reg and you'll have a closed bolt electro gun that will run like a shocker or something with nasty barrel and higher pressure operation(NOTE THAT IS A DUMBED DOWN STATEMENT, i don't want a million shocker comments saying i'm wrong i'm just giving a less experienced player some easy to digest info in lamen's terms)

I have found a nice sale, Spyder EM1 at
http://www.action-village.com/010-4110.html
now you might ask the difference between that and a dragun, and i can tell you whole heartedly that EM1 is better due to its soleniod operations as opposed to just a regular blow back gun featuring an electronic trigger. The price should be right, only about $50 more then the dragun.

im very interested in this gun and the trigger is obviously aluminum oh yea to the guy that said its not a tru lcd, who gives a crap. two hot guns ( flash and impulse) are not lcd's + it never said it was an lcd. oh yea to anyone that is not asking the question find out ur facts before u say something stupid like "how is it better than a spyder?? The black dragon is an EXACT copy of a spyders but with a plastic electro frame"
oh yea kid heres a good deal on the dragun, the site is sketchy thoblack dragun (http://firstcallpaintball.com/frameset.asp?MAIN=markers)

Honestly, I don't have anything against kingman guns, their decent, however I don't many of them are truely worth their price. The only one of their gun's whos price I'm happy with is the TL, and the Compacts. Over all, most of their guns are good, but when it comes down to it, price is what matters to most people who can't really afford to get a good gun like a cocker, or a mag. If I ever said the Dragun is superior, I probobly got carried away. Its pretty true that its very similar, but it doesn't have any real flaws except for cheap material which allows it to remain at a low price. Heck the trigger is made out of the same poly plastic that my poly plastic brass knuckles are made of, so atleast its gonna last a while. Over all yea the Black Dragun by JYC is a good gun. Its trigger pull is more comfertable then a Flash, though the flash does have more features at a higher price. Both are good guns, what I'm suggesting is to simply go to a shop, fire em both with air in em, see if you can tell a real difference, I can guarantee you'll like the Dragun's trigger pull, then look at the prices, and decide for yourself if you like this gun. My only complaint about this gun is the grip pannels and the trigger. With the flash what makes it chop is the cheap stock barrel. Their pretty much the same but the dragun's cheaper, and faster on semi. Thats the basic break down of those two guns. I cant really say nothing about the EM1 since I aint fired it yet. But basically, if you want a gun that is cheap and easy to use, takes the most common forms of parts (Kingman Parts), and will keep up with anything out there for half their price, then hell the Dragun is a good gun. It is THE BEST in its price range, that much can't be argued against.

I own a black dragun and its a great gun in its price range. Even though the trigger is plastic it's ******* strong. It has a 13 bps rate of fire. I would get a revvy because if you fire fast the balls will jam or break as with any gun. I am going to buy a storm frame but the origional one is very good too. The trigger pull is a mouse click, (accidently shot a paintball in the house i forgot to put the safety on. I love my dragun and it's great for the money. ;)

Boy, somebody's real smart. The gun has a black finish so it automatically becomes plastic. LOL
BTW this gun is about 50000028849322323232311111111111111111x better than the Flash. (the flash is a piece of crap)

I know the guy that posted this and he got a used tricked tippy instead (respose trigger, revvy, 16" smart parts AA, drop forward, and anti syphon tank). There is now an E-2 black dragun in production for 250$ it looks pretty sweet. it has a different frame and a better stock barrel (looks kinda like a CP).

I love hearing people talking about what they dont have the slightest clue over, anyway
There are three Black Dragun's, the Black Dragun ( $100 mechanical tigg. ), E-1 Black Dragun ( ETF with LED light and one button opperation), and the new E-2 Black Dragun. The E-2 has a true LCD screen on it and has a nicer looking body on it ( looks like they copyed the JT 4.0 now) and a nicer barrel( $250 ).
They are starting to make red Draguns now and are working on after market metal triggers for them also. Better deal, scratchyer site Twisted Paintball (http://www.twistedpaintball.com).
Honestly I dont know anything about the EM1's other than they dont take normal spyder parts. Choose your color for $250 at Paintball Online (http://www.paintballonline.com).
I highly recomend the E-2 Black Dragun over the E-1 because its only $50 more and it looks better + has the LCD screen on it.
Go to Paintball HQ( link in sig) to read my review of it and other stuff.

the silly thing is is that all the dragun markers PERFORM the same, its either just the looks or features that are different.

The flash is a better choice than the E-1. Its got all the same features plus more. Its got a shorter trigger pull which we all know is very important. But the E-1 has and electric saftey that is one of the features I like. The Flash has a LCD screen(sometimes). If you do decide to get the E-1 I suggest a new bolt because the stock bolt can become warped when you fire fast and ruin the internals of the gun and if that happens you're screwed because it get stuck in the gun( well in the case I saw) and if you do manage to get it out you're still in trouble because PI does not make replacement parts so you must get a whole new gun.
weefek
02-09-2002, 04:24 PM
The Flash does not have a shorter trigger pull. in fact it's longer and feels like crap.
FinnMcKool
02-09-2002, 04:34 PM
it can be adjusted to 1/2 mm thats half of the e1s trigger and it feels stronget BECAUSE its metal
Twisted Angel
02-09-2002, 05:27 PM
I have never played with a flash but I say that the E-1 has a 1mm trig pull I mean that the stock pull is 1mm. I have adjusted it to where I would barly touch it and it would shoot. The bolt is replaceable by ANY Spyder bolt, side cocking ( just take the cocking rod out ), rear cocking, whatever. Most bolts are made with a small hole in the rear center of it, which is where u just screw in the non-kick rear cocking mechonism. About the twisted bolt, that is caoused by a REALLY hard hit on the side, ie droping it or running in to something. And if it does get stuck in the body, just e-mail P.inc. and tell them u need a new body and a new bolt.
P.S. notice how I only talk about what I KNOW! not something I saw.
