do u think that a cocker is still worth using in a comp if it dosent have an e-blade? has the electro marker taken over the paintball skene? i have a custom p&p cold fusion, it rocks. i own with that gun. at tourneys, people always complimate me on my gun, but they always say over and over again that i need to e-blade it. is it that importand that you have an electro cocker in a tourney if your gonna use a cocker?????????

I've seen a lot of mech cockers in tournaments.

Blowfish even uses pumps.;)

Times are changing, speed is important.

Vaypourus

Speed can still be achieved from a mechanical gun.

should i think about putting an e2 on it or do u think its safe to keep the mech for now.

Unless your playing high stakes tournies, I think your mech cocker will do fine.

It's really all about how fast you can shoot it. I've seen 10-12 bps out of mech cockers. I've also seen people struggle to get four. If you can shoot it fast enough to compete, don't bother getting an E2. If the fact that it is mech holds you back, and is getting you smoked on the field, go ahead and E2 it. You won't regret it, but I would have to have a very good reason to drop 450 on an E2.

Yes, times are changing. As of right now electros are dominate on the tournament scene. However, with times changing mechanicals are making a slight comeback with noticing of the hair trigger, ect.

However, you'll need to do somemodding if you want your mech cocker to try keep up with the electros.

hi stakes as in an nppl organized event?

xXcoldfusionXx
03-30-2005, 06:44 PM
i dont get smoked, but i always feel kinda aquard being one of the only ones with a mec cocker....i can prolly pull out like 1o bps with my hinge frame with a flame trigger upgrade, its either upgrade to an electro or get a trigger mod to make my pull alot shorter and lighter for only liek $20..

Personally, I would keep it mech.

But that's just me.

Mech = less stuff to go wrong with it, and less things to have to worry about keeping up with.

03-30-2005, 07:51 PM
i like mech. guns, because it makes it impossible to ramp, and dang-near impossible to have bounce. I don't even think you could bounce a mechanical gun.

i appreciate mech. guns more. they seem to have more of a soul than electros.

Actually, at the last tournament I played the refs checked my mech cocker for bounce and ramp, it was pretty entertaining.

That is the stupidest thing I have heard in a long time. How could a ref think a mech could ramp?

Keep your 'cocker mech. Like Murf425 said, Mechs= Less stuff to go wrong with it, and lless things to have to worry about keeping up with.

Here is a thought. Try shooting an electro. If you like that better, get it. If not, keep the mech. I have seen tourny players that have bought electros and went back to a mech because they liked it better.

xXcoldfusionXx
03-30-2005, 08:39 PM
yeah, if i decide to stay mech, should i get a trigger mod to make the trigger pull shorter?

I know a kid who has an A-5 that bounces. It freaked me out the first time I shot it. I was like "Whaaa? A tippmann that bounces?"

And I'm talking crazy bounce, 3-4 shots per every other pull.

Cold Fusion- As long as you don't feel like you're being hindered by using a mech...then don't change it.

Go electro, you'll shoot about 10x faster, and theres really nothing that can go wrong with it, except for changing the battery every couple months.

Yeah, I saw that in his sig too. I thought Omega was saying that while he had his cocker, he started looking at electros but chose to keep his cocker and not buy an electro.

But now he is going to buy an electro...I confused myself:freak: Please clear this up for me, Omega.

if i do change into electro, hows that centerflag uprising trigger frame, does it add up with an e-blade???

Omegaboy13
03-30-2005, 09:39 PM
I used to have an E-Blade, I didnt like the feel of it though so I moved back to a mech. I've never trusted electronics unless I built it, the E-blade just confirmed my fear.

I am currently in the process of finding an electro that I don't hate.

My old mag could really lay down the paint. It was so fast, I had to get a warp feed to keep paint going to it (this was the days before the halo)

03-31-2005, 01:04 PM
Vayp, clean out your pm box.... i can't pm you and ask how fast you could get your mag, or how to make my desert fox faster..... dangit.

I upgraded to my gun (to my current one) because i knew that 4bps WAS in fact holding my game back. And since i'm not ever gonna try out for team blowfish, i wanted something faster, so i could snap-shoot better, and lay down more paint for my team-mates.

Now, that's when to upgrade. I'd be happy with a mech. cocker. I think they pwn all.

I don't know exact BPS on my old mag, but with the pressure turned down I could still outshoot my x-board revy.

xXcoldfusionXx
03-31-2005, 06:16 PM
revvy w/ x board is like what 12bps?

SpydrCmpct2000
03-31-2005, 06:58 PM
It's 12 bps as long as you have a stack of balls in the feedneck. The average is probably around 8-10 bps.

xXcoldfusionXx
03-31-2005, 07:07 PM
yeah, i like my revvy for my mech. cocker. it never falls off and i cant shoot fast enough with it too need an egg or a halo. so i guess mech cockers save u $$ in lots of ways too.

Actually it's consistantly about 12-13 balls a second, I tested it in one of my reviews.

Yeah...who can cover up the hits and whatnot.

I saw some footage of some big tournament (I don't know the specifics..I am not into the tourny world) and you saw people diving and "rubbing" against bunkers left and right to cover the hits. It was ridiculous.

04-01-2005, 10:29 AM

people make cheating seem like too big of a deal. you don't see basketball fans cry and complain every time someone gets hacked and no foul is called. it's part of the game, and everyone will have to accept it. i'm not saying people should be allowed to whipe hits, but when someone does it and gets away with it *****ing over an internet forum will get you no where, you're gonna have to accept it sometime.

Moosenuckle- its an attitude like that that somehow makes "cheating" seem okay. Could you imagine if this was the case in school? What would become of our education system??

I don't know about you guys, but i think that something is wrong when cheating is part of the game.

Cheating should not be part of the game, rather, skill and ability. Maybe I am just old fashioned....:|

xXcoldfusionXx
04-01-2005, 01:07 PM
if everyone cheated than what would be the point of playing the game. you would shoot someone and not get them out.....but no one would think anything of it....

bdaniel08
04-01-2005, 01:45 PM
In paintball you have to have more trust in the other players to not cheat, that's why it's wrong. Basketball's really not that comparable. In my opinion wiping is controlled by the ones greed and bad sportsmanship by not accepting to loose. I find it funny that this includes the whiners, too.

xXcoldfusionXx
04-01-2005, 01:50 PM

No matter how good you are, there will always be someone better than you. Why not be equipped with a faster gun?

Also, you've obviously never shot a true electro if you thought it felt "shocking".

Mech = less things to go wrong and no opporutunity for bastteries to die on you. Jsut me that sucks. Also you will find that you are spending less on paint. 3 shots will put a guy back into his bunker just as well as 10 and it only takes one to send him to the dead box. The only trouble you might have is with laning and snapshooting. You can still do both but you will be at a slight disadvantage.
