I getting a new gun, cause mine was stolen. Anyway, I'm leaning towards an A-5. But I can't decide between a Flatline or a 16 inch Empire Twister. My old 98 Custom had a Flatline and I loved its range. I hear that the A-5 Flatline is even better. But I also hear that the Empire Twister is super accurate. Could I get some advice please?

i would say the flatline is better and if you get a barrel dont get one thats over 14" long because you just loose more hpa or co2 and you loose distance the longer the barrel is

Don't go with the flatline. I owned one, shot one, and watch them being shot every weekend. If they shoot (as in not chopping) again, you will get a ton of bounces.
The balls are moving so slow, they are just floating...and also I get nailed with one today and no busts what so ever...

If you liked the 98 Flatline then you will like the A-5 Flatline too. The 98 flatty has a bit more range, but the A-5 example is easier to use and maybe a little more consistent in accuracy.

They don't FLOAT! Anywho, being able to hit something and have a bounce, is better than not even being able to reach it at all.

...:eyes: flat lines don't "chop" chopping is from the bolt closing down on a paintball...there is no bolt in the flatline.

flatline is around 16"

incorrect, they move on a flat trajectory giving them the optical illusion of going slower, nice try though.
i don't recommend the flatline to the following people:
people with cerebral palsy
morons
children
Old people with arthritis

Well, I'm getting an A-5, so the length of the Flatline is not a problem. I think I'm going to go with a 14 inch Empire Twister because I here they are very accurate and this accuracy will help me conserve paint. Plus, they are half as expensive at some places.
Would you recommend a 14 inch or a 16 inch?

16 for air ball, 14 for woods.

I only play woods. Is there any accuarcy or distance difference between the 14 and the 16?

If you play woods I would actaully recamend a 12 inch. But the 14 inch would be good to. Oh and sniperdude a longer barrel will not make you loose any range. A longer barrel will make your gun clumsyand ungasefficent. But a longer barrel will make your gun more quieter. Thats about it. So if a louder barrel doesnt bother you get a 12inch.

why do you want an empire?have you seen it shoot?if not look into some other more popular barrels.they usually end up as a better choice.the flatline is great for woodsball.there hasnt been a time that i played when i didnt wish for that extra few feet of range.the accuracy isnt that bad when using consistent small-medium bore paint.
on the other hand,a barrel besides the flatline would be good because the easy maintanence ex broken balls
they usually have better accuracy too.my bigshot goes far enough for the style i play[most of the time]the flatlien is for those who like to sta;y back and be a "sniper".if you like the action of the frontline like me a regular barrel would easily be the better choice.or even if you arent small enough or fast enough and stay kinda inbetween[me most of the time cause im fat]this would work well.
it really depends what and how you play

I have a 16'' Twister, and still can shoot about 1000 shots on a 20 oz. tank. The accuracy of it is also very good. I perfer it over a flatline anyday.
However, I do not find them hard to clean. Infact, much to opposite. It's just if you get a bust, you need to clean it ASAP because the shots you shoot with a bust will corkscrew. You can still hit people, but not nearly as well. It does look quite funny though.

Hey bro, the flatline has to be the best thing on my a-5. The distance is untouchable and it doesn't float it splats in their face while their balls are rolling at your feet. Flatline is awesome.
