ndz detents and was board

i just ordered a was eq board for my imp and it is about time for me to get new detents too because i am getting some double feeds with my reloader on speed 3. i am going to get ndz detents because ndz makes the best parts for impulses, so i am wondering since the was board gives you shims for the vision side detent should i just order two non vision detents and cut out the shims. also, i noticed my non vision side detent right now hardly sticks out into the ball chamber of the gun. is this normal? how far should the detents go into the ball chamber?

I take it your asking if you should get short or long detents for your was board.

I want to say short from something I read here a long time ago but honestly I'm waiting for the big guns to answer this one so I can order my detents as well.

My friend ordered detents from Hauger Enterprises (an ebay store) and the guy suggested he get the long ones b/c they offer less resistence. To me this seems backward for a forced loader like a halo b/ or empire reloader b which he uses.

yeah that does seem backwards. how far does your non vision side detent stick out into the chamber?

lol...funny story about hauger enterprises. i ordered my 15* asa from them and at first somehow some1 got into the package, stole the part and put like skin cream stuff inside it as a substitute. i emailed the manager and he was kool about and sent me a new 1. kinda weird though...sry that was off the topic my friends carry on

or you could get two long ones and use the shims and use a small o-ring on the other side so you can put them farther into the breech for speed 3 and align them perfectly.

yeah i used an empire b and i didnt double feeds. The ndz ones are built with extra srping power so taht doesnt happen

yeah bout time for new detends for me too. the reason why one is not sticking in the breech is cause with the stock impy, both are short, but if you look closely, the ball in one does stick out further. take that and put it in the side where its not coming out enough. this should compensate and they should be equal. i dunno, ive heard 2 shorts ones work, on pbnation, the WAS guy suggested that because teh WAS baord is faster, the detents get more use. so what he does is have at least 1 long detent and use the shims. what he does is he doesnt use enough shims so that the detent sticks inot the breech further, but not far enough to do damage. just far enough to offer more force but not to stick into teh breech too far. but, ive never heard of this and im sure 90% of the ppl just wen out and bought 2 short ND detents. im almost positive both will work. i myself have not figured out what i am going to do. i am leaning towards short so that every time i take apart my gun i dont have to worry about loosing my shims. less parts is good. unless i find a major plus with going with long ones (like they work a wholelot better, but i havent heard that yet. but it makes sense. im shure it works) then ill just go with short. anybody else with WAS and short ND detents, tell me how they are workin for ya.
