Im pretty sure this has been posted somwhere... but I was wondering what are the fundamental differences between Steel braided line and Macro line? Which is better?
Thank you for your help.

Macro line is cheaper, the length can be adjusted, and its flexible and replacable.

I like macro. It's easy to cut to different lengths, flexible, and cheap at around .75 cents to $1 a foot over at PBN.

Ok... but is it any more air efficent?

macro is easier to work with in general.

But also is more prone to damage and breaks. The only advantage steel has is, it is very durable.

if all your pressures are adjusted right the macroline should last a while.

Macroline is very strong and is very unlikely to blow. I've had the same macroline on my Timmy since October, and I haven't had any problems with it.

Im not sayin that macroline isnt strong. Im sayin that steel is stronger.

steal is better with c02 as well because it shrinks the macro line or does not seal well? not sure about the shrinkage but marco does not work well with c02.

I think macroline is easier to work with personally.

Macroline is more convenient and easier to set up with some setups which require a specific length.
Steel line is more durable, reliable, and rated for higher pressures.
I like shrinkwrapped steel line the best. While finding shrinkwrap in the dimensions is hard in most cases, it has the good looks and feel of macroline with the durability and reliability of steel line.
I wouldn't recommend macroline for anyone using co2, who doesnt bring extra macro on them, or uses a high pressure tank (unless it is regulated down BEFORE the macro)

Quoted for emphisis
I dont like braided hose because if you ever have to deal with your bottom line set up it can be a paint especially if you have something like a stock cocker reg.. I just prefer marco since its so easy to work with and cheaper.

Mine's exploded before. I had my gun sittin' on the ground and I was watchin the remainder of the game. I was sittin' on the ground cross-legged and jumped about a foot in the air when it exploded. It's really loud, I tell you what.

that reminds me of a story: okay so the owner of my feild has an hp 4500 crossfire and the reg on it is a little funky so it runs a little high, just high enough to blow the macro without warning about every 1/2 hour. i remember it went off one time when me and a friend were right next to it, scared the crap out of both of us:laugh:. i had heard the owner of the gun complain about the tank before so when the macro went i thought that the tank itself was about to go so i jumped about a foot in the air and took of running and my friend hit the deck before we realized what was going on. so that's my random rant for the day:P.

Doesn't a steel hose get more airflow?
