Ok, i want a Tippman because my Spyder Victor II is ok and i want a more dependable gun, I do a TON of woodsball, and a smatering of speedball. now I want to know weather to get a pro/carbine or a 98custom. I am a very good shot and I want an accurate gun. I have read the reviews but I want to know what i should get first hand.

It all depends. If you want to have you buy it you got it upgrades then go with the 98c. If you are more of a tinkerer and like doing mods then definately get the pro/carbine. It is right now the most durrable gun that tippmann makes.

The Pro/Carb is not very upgradeable but extremely accurrate, much more so than the 98c. It is also slower, but it's the last carbine in production and there is nothing quite like it. If you want something faster, not quite as accurrate, but moderately so, very upgradable and better for someone who has to count volume or precision; I'd consider the 98c or Custom Pro. Also The 98c and Pro Carbine are solid as rocks and the most reliable guns on the market, either is a good choice.

they are the same accurate geez, maybe the 98 has a bit more kick but not that much to see an accuracy difference.....
procustoms are good woods only guns cuz theyre pretty slow

id say the 98c but if you can afford it the A-5 is a good speed/woodsball gun...i have had both of these guns and they are great great guns....

Try a search next time. 30 seconds plus a search button and I found a post that was right on target and fairly new. Procarb v 98c (http://www.pbreview.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=274567&highlight=procarbine)

Get the 98. As I've said many times before, for the price of an an A-5, you can have a better performing 98 or Pro/Carb. Nothing against A-5's, but if you don't have that kind of cash to blow on a $250.00 gun stock, then the 98 or Pro/Carbine would obviously be the better choice.

I love my 98c and would reccommend that, but sence i would like to hear more facts about the 98 pro I would reccommend that.

If you play alot of woods, and some airball, go with the 98 Custom, with an upgraded barrel.

Why don't you just get a E-trigger for your spyder?

If he loves mech than he should get a mag. All i am saying is that he is limiting he choices to much, and there ae much better markers than a tippmann.

98C definitely. This is all opinion but I think it has a better feel to it than the Procarbine. Some people think the 98 is a bit long though. I'm not a big fan of the "shotgun-like" way you have to hold the Pro-Carbine. Plus the 98c is much more upgradeable than the Pro-Carbine. Get the 98c.

well its better to get a 98 custom its very accurate and a good marker to use a pro carbine you couldn't customize it as much the 98 custom you can do alot to it and its a very
well made gun i have a 98 as well so i get a 98.

ive used both the 98c and Pro Carbine. The carbine ownz the 98.

-its very innacurate if your wearing a blindfold
-very short range if its pointing at the ground
-difficult trigger pull if your still in diapers
-go to www.pbreview.com and read reviews, anyone who gives it less than 8 is a ******* anyway.

i kno its not one of your options, but the a5 iz the best tippmann for woodsball.

get the 98C the carbine doesnt have nearly as many upgrades as a 98C.

IronCorps

the carbine has just as many upgrades as 98C, all you need to find them is internet access (which you probobly have).

John Sullivan
07-07-2005, 06:06 PM
even if you know where to find them there still arent as many ups.

IronCorps

that half the beuaty of the carby is that it doesnt need a billion dollars worth of upgrades to become a high end marker.

this is a old thread. But if the person hasnt bought a gun yet, i highly suggest an A-5, then upgrading it to preferences. Barrel, foregrip, trigger, stock, hopper all preferences like that. I think i might throw new barrel and foregrip on mine.
