double feeding help asap

I got a ricochet apache recently cuz im getting a new gun. well i just wanted to test it out and i had to use my old screwed up tippmann 98 custon and it double fed really bad. i was wondering if this would happen with guns like the vexor eye or similar ones. and if it will is there a hopper i could get that wouldn't like the halo tsa or evo 2?

it sounds as tho the loader is pushing your paint down past your detents.
I'm not real knowledgable about tippys, so somebody else is gonna have to recommend what detents to get, to stop the problem.

edit- oh...and the halo loaders have a reputation for pushing balls down past the detents, so they would prolly cause similar probs.

all three of my freinds have major problems with their detents in tippys. all they need to do is point the barrel down and a ball will roll out

Is the ball detent still in, worn down?

If it is one of those two, then of course it will double feed.


I wouldn't replace the hopper until I'm sure that its the gun and not the hopper.

replace the detent, they cost less then $2 and usually Tippmann will send you some for free if you call them. I use an Apache just fine on my M98 that is over 5 years old. This shouldn't be a problem on whatever new marker you put it on. And for the record, the Apache puts less tension on the detents then the Evolution 2, Halo B, or Reloader B. The Reloader B exerts the most force, then Halo B, then Evolution 2, then Apache.
