What is wrong with spyder?
What are you going to play, (woodsball or speedball)?
If your answer is woods go with tippmen 98c and J&J barrel

If your answer is speed ball, Spyder is the way to go, stick with the imagine. youl need and e-hopper for it though

These goggles are single lenses and fog pretty easily in the right conditions.

They are also uncomfortable. The padding around your eyes in thin and not very soft. And at the back of them by the ears there is just hard plastic that hurts when you wear the goggles. And it would be very painful to get hit in that part.

I would suggest these goggles. http://www.actionvillage.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/DisplayProductInformation-Start;sid=BNXshtUEFc_si5dbv1gsLt-iOuazjji_8ug=?ProductID=q9SsFAY7VVoAAAD390WlA_2t
They are a bit more expensive but are much more comfortable and they have dual thermal lenses.

P.S. I have the V-force goggles.

WGP Trilogy Autococker. You can get em for $150-160 with mask, Co2 tank, and loader. Or just the gun for 140ish. Just look on EBay.

if you don't want a spyder...

- 32° icon z (http://www.paintballgateway.com/32dezicelmab1.html) - $80
- 20 oz co2 tank (http://www.paintballgateway.com/20ozaltanwit.html) - $20
- empire reloader (http://www.paintballgateway.com/emresm.html) - $40
- CP 1-piece (http://www.paintballgateway.com/cp1piclbasp17.html) - $40

= $180

Only $30 more than your marker budget alone.

get a 98 custom the power pack may not be great but has alot of advantages when your starting if you have a sports authority near you they occasionally go on sale for 150 t0 169. your first upgrade would be a tank or new barrel get your tank check because the valves they come with are horrible my leaked after the first fill. good luck

Research the different brand of guns, don't say you don't want a spyder based on what someone has said. My friend came paintballing and overheard a bunch of kids with 98cs saying, yeah spyders suck, they break all the time. He was originally getting a spyder but decided to get a 98c.

The 98c was broken when he got it, he said to me he wished he got the spyder. (Dont get me wrong, 98c is a great gun)

Spyders= Great Looking, and can be upgraded to be amazing paintball guns, especially for speedball.

Tippman= Dull looking, can be upgraded to be great paintball guns, will last very long, great for woodsball.

Icon= Same as Spyder, but you would be getting 'Spyder' Upgrades for your icon, who wants to do that?

Brass Eagle= Dont.

PMI= Some piranhas perform pretty well, not extremely easy to upgrade though

Zap= Dont.

Thats my opinion from personal experience

if you're looking to get your first gun, and need to go really cheap, and dont want a spyder, you might consider a Black Dragun Dragunfire. It goes for around 40-50 or 70-90 bucks at most places, and is a really decent gun. Just stay away from the Compact, it has some proprietary parts, that you cant get anymore.
there's two versions of it, the led, and the lcd. the lcd is the higher priced of the two, but has a much better electronic cap of 20 on it, instead of the led's cap of 10.

you can find tons of them on ebay, by doing a search for dragun, and all over google by searching dragunfire.

I think it's not smart to go with guns that dont come from some of the major companies because they arent as easily upgradable...tippman, spyder, piranha...are the safest starter guns

Used mag, used Impulse (these go for about $200 from what I've seen) or the good ol' '98 if you don't want a Spyder. if you don't buy one of these, you'll probably end up buying a Spyder clone, in which case you might as well have a Spyder.

Go to www.walmart.com they have quite a few guns in your price range, a lot of them are Spyders thought. you could get a Tippmann power pack for $160ish. Whats wrong with spyders? :eyes:

Vforce Vantages are nice, and only $32 for thermals on Actionvillage. Anyways, a 16oz chrome-moly or a 12oz co2 is your best best for tank. 20oz will encumber you and is 100% pointless unless you play outlawball where you can never fill... Get an Empire reloader or a revvy, and then you're left with a marker. Anything under $200 will be a spyder, a spyder clone, a trilogy or a tippmann. Discluding used markers. So basically, suck it up and get a spyder since it's the cheapest and will perform the same as every other marker under $200. The Imagine is $108..

If you are just spending that money on a PB GUN then go with a 98 custom, or a Mongoose1 LED, or a Psycho Ballistics Lightning Deluxe (and upgrade it with an E blade later if you decide on it).
