I have a Impulse and the barrel isn't that great on it because it's stock. I don't know what barrel to buy so i am wondering what is the best barrel i can get for $175 for my impulse.

i use my stock barrel, but you can get an empire kit, ultralite, freak, cp, lucky 15, lots to choose from.

I've been thinking about buying a freak but I'm not sure on what to get. Should I get a full freak or a freak back and an all american front?

There's a lot of nice barrels out there for less than $175 including many that will perform like a Freak for much less $. Freaks are good but very expensive and they come with a few useless bores (if you get the full kit). Search and read the stickies in the barrels and paint forum.
