I was just wondering if i was going to buy a 98 custom or the pro carbine which won would be a better choice with all upgrades in mind also could i get a list of upgrades to make the pro carbine good enough for speedball or should i just go with the 98 custom.:eyes:

A Model 98 Pro Basic will be your best bet for beginning speedball IMO.

Pro/Carb is not a speedball gun by any means. 98custom Pro is ready for speedball very easily and cheaply. Just like Coenen said.

If I were him, I'd wait until Tippmann worked all the bugs out of it. But, if he has the cash, the BSI E-Bolt would be a lot better.

What bugs are there to work out? I'm talking about the mechanial version. All it is is a 98C valve and powertube setup with an A-5 trigger mechanism...both of which have been in production for quite some time now and are, I hope, bug free.
I would never recommend the Electro version...to anyone, ever. For the price they are asking you could get 2 E-Spyders or the obligatory Ion or BKO.

If your playin woodsball, i would definetly go with the pro/carbine. I have both a 98c with a bunch of upgrades and a pro carbine. I love my pro/carbine, it is a great gin and is VERY accurate even with no barrel upgrades. I think that you should get a pro/cabine becuz they are VERY durable and VERY reliable, and you can actaully shoot pretty fast despite what some people might say.
...u can buy my upgraded 98c for a good price or my pro/carbine..or buy them both and see what one u like better!

Dang it! I read the topic and started hoping that I would be able to get someone hooked on the pro/carbine. Sadly I have to admit thought that the pro custom is the way to go for a speedballer.

I'm also contemplating getting either a pro/carbine or a m98c. I think i'll go with a pro/carbine though, cause i already have an elctro spyder that can be upgraded to do all the really fast things.

shut up eagle whatever.
i wouldnt recomend the pro carbine for speedball.its like using a sniper rifle it a gunfight of uzi 's.there was talk about a rof up grade from tippmann for the p/c.the 98 custom would be better in my opinion.you could use it for speedball and it would work great,or woodsball and it would be even better.

i cant believe people are actually arguing over this, who in their right mind would take a pro carbine over a 98C, 98's are much newer, way more upgrades, better.
i think i just got stupider reading this thread

Eagle, watch your language. I'd strongly reccomend that you read the forum rules regarding attacking other members and avoidng the swear filter if you wish to stay here for long. Also, check the dates of threads that you are posting in, this one was almost two weeks old.
The rest of you...well, same advice especially about the dates.
