I've decided to buy my first electro marker, and I'm going to go with an Impy.
I'm trying to find a good deal on eBay, but I have a few questions...
1. Is going eBay for a marker a blatantly bad idea?
2. Should I pay more attention to markers that have ups? NDZ stuff, aftermarket bolts and such?
3. Would anyone more familiar with this sort of thing be willing to look at a few auctions for me to help sift through and find a good deal?
Thankee...
im not trying to steer you away from an impulse, but i would deffinitely take a look at an ion. i got an upped impy with WAS ND internals and all of that, but i can honestly say if i had a nother chance to start over, and could buy an ion for 285, and an impulse for 400. i would without a doubt take the ion. after all the upgrades i have put on my gun, it has made me realize how bad stock impy are. i mnea they arent bad compared to spyders and stuff but a stock impy cant even hold a candle to a stock ion. secondly, i have probably more than i piad for the enitre gun in upgrades to get it performing the way it does. with the ion, you can get pretty much the same perfromance with a new trigger and QEV and feed neck. maybe a CP reg if you really feel like going all out. (a new barrel kit is a given, every gun should have one, and nitro). so basically, after about 120 in upgrades you have an awsome gun that is small fast and light with very little kick. now take an impy, you would needs a trigger, tapeworm, new internals, WAS.....bla bla bla. easily would cost you a few hundred. for the price i would deffinitely take the ion. i dont want to scare you, i love my impy, but take a look at the ion.
ive never shot an ion, but that does sound correct. except an ion looks like crap. im sorry but it just looks so fake its not even funny. its like going to wal mart and buying a x-games skateboard instead of going to the nearest real skateboard shop and spending nearly 3 times as much for a slightly better quality board. that doesnt make sense if u dont skate though...'
newayz, if you have your heart set on an imp, try to find all the upgrades you would want on it and find the one on ebay that has the closest to what you want. all of the upgrades i would recommend and evry1 else here, im sure, are in my sig. but if you cant find the imp that has the stuff that you want on it, just buy a stock one for the cheapest you can find and get the ups you want on it.
but ya, with a WAS board, an impulse can easily shoot just as fast as any timmy or trix. and it will be cheaper. and if your careful about your weight, lighter. trixes and timmy's probably are smoother and have less kick though, but its not worth paying the extra for those 2 minor things. and the impulse is one of the most upgradeable guns on the market, next to cockers.
and you could try to upgrade an ion to the max, and compare it to an impulse upgraded to the max, and the imp will always win. and as of now there are no aftermarket boards for ions, and theyre capped at 17 bps. i also heard that somehow its impossible to put aftermarket boards in ions, maybe cuz theyre built in somehow.

if you go ebay, make sure the guy has good feedback, and using paypal is a good idea.
and you can get a really really nice imp for $400 on ebay because the prices dropped so much because of the ion. a used imp with upgrades will perform better than an ion and will be about the same price.
most people cant even shoot 17, and nomatter what 17 is fast enough. god even the rpos were capped at 15. second, you still have a smaller lighter much different feeling gun. and secondly i dont know if you have ever seen an ion in person but they look 500% better in person. i was acutally surprised when i saw one cause it looked so different in person. plus, deadly wind is about to realease sweet looking ion shells.

I've looked into the Ion and I'm pretty impressed. Unless I see a great offer for an Impy I think I'll probably go with the Ion.
Thanks for the advice.

My friends were just talking about this company the other day. Doesn't that sound like a fart?

Try PBN trading forums, there's tons of nice guns that go through there daily. The trading forums here are good too, but I'll admit they are nothing compared to PBN. One of the few things I do like about PBN.
