I have a JT Excellerator and I was playing today in pretty cold weather... around 20 i think. I have 2 20 oz co2s and both were full. I was playing and all of a sudden I screwed one in and I hear leaking... I waited a while and I guess it stopped. But when I was in the game playing I fired like 20 shots without a problem then I shot one and the gun sputtered like outta co2. It shot like 20 times in 5 secs. Paint didnt come out though. I stopped the cocking bolt and it stopped. I pulled it back and shot again and the same thing happened. So I called myself out and went back to get my other co2. I screwed that one in... no leaks and fired it. Same thing happened... it sputtered. My friend took his gun and screwed it in and it fired fine. I took my gun apart and replaced all of the orings on the bolt and valve. What could cause this? Could the cold weather be the problem or could an o ring be broken... Or do I have to oil my gun? Can someone help me out please.

Try tightening the screws that hold your grip frame on.
Sometimes if the screw comes loose the hammer won't catch on the sear anymore and it will go full auto like that.

It's still probably the CO2. It's hard to say what exactly CO2 will act like when it's that cold, but the faster you fire the more likely it will sputter out. Since you are using a blow back it could sputter out on the first shot sometimes. Pretty much all you can do in that situation is try to warm the tank, expansion chamber, hose, or whatever and fire just one or two shots at a time. Also, if liquid CO2 gets in the marker at that temperature it could take a little while to warm back up and be ready to go again. If it gets that cold in the winter though, you should probably play inside, get a cheap nitro tank, or just expect to hassle with it.

A $170 investment in a 68ci 4.5kpsi nitro tank is a sound investment. You can get several different screw in's for this price. I would go for either the PMI PE series or a X-fire. The xfire is a little cheaper...but the 68 and 88ci PE's have luxfer fiber bottles which are the only bottles with 5 year hydros and not 3 years like the other fibers. (note: PMI is not the only company that uses these top quality bottles...the PMS/NITRO duck bottles are almost all...if not all luxfer). Seriously Nitro was the best thing I ever put on my spyder...in real cold weather I would rather have nitro and the stock barrel than co2 and an aftermarket one.

Yeah, I'd get nitro, but no one within 4 hours of me fills it. But, about your problem: My friends gun does it a lot, just warm it up for a while, make sure everyhtings alright, fix anything thats wrrong, and switch tanks. It works for him....
