ok i know some are going to say go get the freak system no matter what but i thought i would post this anyways.

i was out the other day in the snow and with my impulse and a 20 oz CO2 tank. the gun froze up into a solid block of ice, dont worry i cleaned it up and it shoots just as well now. i was wondering if maybe i should get myself a HPA tank. but then i think i shouldnt cuz i dont really want to play in the winter. when i was shooting my impulse in the winter my vert reg froze up and my finger tips practically froze off, will my vert reg freeze up like this even in summer?

now heres the other thing. i wasnt too impressed by the performance of the stock barrel (progressive for all that dont know) and started to wonder maybe a new barrel is in order. but the only barrel that i can think that is truely worth it is the freak system. problem is is that i dont need 8 inserts but i wouldnt mind a few. im thinking about getting a friend, who is going to get a freak back for his all american, to split some cost on a freak kit so we both have some inserts and that way we are both happy.

so what do you say? say i go HPA, what size? say i go freak, do i really need all those inserts? should i split the cost w/ my friend like i said?

im sure both are worth it but which should i get first?

why not go with the freak? you can shoot ANY kind of paint ANYWHERE you want too...i doubt your reg will freeze in the summer if your using an ANTI-syphon tank...my suggestions go with the freak

i think u should get the Bizerk barrel system. Its only like 70 bucks and it comes with SS inserts i think... unlike the freak which comes with cheap (no offence) inserts.. or the MS barrel system which is like the freak with the SS(stainless steel) inserts which is like 180 bucks.. if you get the bizerk therre will be enough mone left over for a cheap nitro tank like a PMI 47ci... Hope i have helped!!!

well i know i wont ever be getting a 47ci because that is too small for me.
also i didnt think i could get the equation multi-switch cuz i thought they didnt make impulse compatible barrels and i also really like to support smart parts.
i think ill end up getting a freak but please post more thoughts.

Get yourself the Freak! After you get your HPA!! Yeah I know, I'm like the biggest Freak pusher out there. BUT! you're right about cold and CO2 (I live in western New York, and I know COLD!) CO2 and cold weather just don't work well together. For that matter paintballs for the most part don't like the cold weather either!
I'd go with nothing less than a 4500 system, if you're gonna do it, do it right!

I second that, get HPA first, then Freak.

Heh if it was me, I couldn't wait, I'd get both at once. They are both VERY good upgrades. But if you play winter paintball, get HPA first.

well i have been talking to a possible sponsor lately so both may be in range possibly.

any who.......

i think ill get the freak first because i dont usually play in cold weather so i dont think ill have to worry about super freeze ups like i had last time. how many shots on a 20 oz compared to a 68 4500 or 68 3000. also i am a back player but hate big tanks (88's) and i have a 3.2 dimension pack. BAH! forget all that stuff i said. should i get a 68 4500 or a 68 3000? probly gonna get it from pmi cuz the centerflag is just too much money in canada.

keep posting thoughts

I personally recommend CenterFlag :|

But anyways, if you get HPA, get 4500, at tourneys there is always a fill for 4500, just a better investment.

20oz CO2 = 1,000 rounds
68/4500 = 800 rounds

They are both about the same size. If you are a back player, I assume you'd waste about what 500-600 per game? So that tank will last you, but I'd go with bigger tank if play back.

PS: If I am wrong on the numbers, someone please update me

Yea as far as the 68/4500, you should probably get somewhere in the neighborhood of 1000-1100 shots per tank.
