i got a tippman 98 custom. i need a new barrel. i am deciding between a j&j ceramic or an all american. i have a teardrop and it breaks paint and never shoots straight. any help would be sweet. i need good acuracy for sniping but it also needs to able to shoot 15 bps at least. any help would be sweet.

You really need to get your facts straight. It might be as accurate as the freak, but not the UL. Plus alot of the loudness comes from the gun, not the barrel.

the only thing to keep in mind with the J&J ceramic and full tilts, are that they are on the smaller end of the medium sized bores. 688. so bigger sized balls like 691+ are gonna have a lotta breaks. possibly 690 too if they are poor quality, or out of round.
other than that, I've got a lot of respect for the J&J ceramics.

edit- oh yeah....and any decent barrel is gonna be able to keep up with 15bps. unless you get a break. and even then, the ceramics are decent for shoot-throughs. but you'd still need to clean it, to get it shooting back up to its true potential, from a break.

The flatline is only for a certian gun (autocockers, or tippys I forget which..)

um, J&J's and all americans dont really even cost the same, so i dont know why you're looking at such different barrels

but of those two, i would just get the J&J, that way you can choose between that or your teardrop for dif paint sizes

also check out cp barrels

ok, I'm not arguing with Ryan, cause from what I've seen from his other posts, he is pretty knowledgable.
But if you're switching from that teardrop to the J&J make sure you chrono your gun afterwards. The J&J is a lot more efficient than the teardrop, so you may have to turn your velocity down, to keep from shooting hot.

do you need a special adapter for the J&J to fit on the 98c?

why would you need an adapter, buy it with 98c threads and screw it in and BAM, it fits
