When I fire I get a whole lot of mist (co2) coming out the end of my barrel, so much so that at times it can obscure my field of vision so I can't see where my paint is going. I have an ACI 6stage expansion chamber on there so I shouldn't be getting too much liquid co2 into the marker. Also, this happens not just when rapid firing it smokes even when I fire a single shot or fire slowly.

Do you think I am still getting liquid co2 into the marker?

Would putting an antisyphon on my tank help that much with the smoking of the barrel?

What else could I do besides anti-syphoning my tank to eliminate that obscuring gas cloud?

Thanks for the help

Yep that's liquid CO2 in the gun. Try the anti siphon tube, or a remote. My advice has always been two of the three [expansion chamber, anti-siphon tube, remote] are needed to keep liquid out of the gun.

But never ever anti syphon AND remote, that is just bad. UTL is right though, try an anti syphon, they're actually incredibly useful

Yeah, I should clarify. Get an expansion chamber, and one of anti-siphon tube and remote. You could have an anti-siphon tank with a remote, but at the beginning of each tank you would actually siphon liquid straight through the hose. It should clear out before hitting the Expansion chamber, but you'd have a cold hose and waste $10 on an anti-siphon tube.

Yeah, I know how the antispyhon/remote works (or rather how it doesn't work), I guess it's probably a good idea. Why does my marker suck liquid co2 while my brothers compact 2000 doesn't? We both played yesterday in the rain in about 50 F degree weather.

Is it something in the valve that allows more gas to pass through mine somehow?

He does have a high flow valve and has drilled out his VA because he is trying to go LP so why does his marker spew less smoke than mine? I guess this was the big question I was trying to get at.

And thanks for the info guys

Well, there's several variables... If his gun has a higher gas flow (not just the valve, but if the airways are larger too) it in a way would act as another expansion or LP chamber. Also, you may have gotten a better fill on your tank. His tank may be angled down more, thus allowing gas to get to the marker more easily. He may not fire as much. His hands may be warmer. He may actually be running at a higher pressure, and only getting a quick spurt of air, instead of a slow spurt that would pull more liquid out in cold weather. (If all he has upgraded is the valve, this is actually quite possible since there is now a higher flow) There probably is no one real reason, and it's hard to cross compare markers on CO2 behavior. Still, if you get an anti-siphon tube you will have much less liquid CO2 than he would without.

Also, has your brother put in the corresponding springs to go with his valve and the weather? He should be using a light spring for both the valve pin and the main spring. If he hasn't upgraded those yet, he may actually be running at the same pressure as before, with just a quick burst of high flow air instead of a long push of lower pressure air.
