You probably ordered the wrong thread size, where did you buy it from?

Did you compare it to your stock barrel? Are they the same?

differant brands of markers have different sized barrel threads. You may have ordered a thread that is made for a different marker. Make sure you get model 98 CUSTOM threads, because regular m98's are different. Call the place you ordered to see if you can return it.

yeah, usually different companies make different threads. Or it could have just been a manufacturing mess-up.

I'm aware that they made a slight change last year, but all problems with that have been resolved, or so it seems.
