Im deciding whether to get a vision impulse, or an ion. My friends are arguing that for the price the vision isnt worth it becasue it isnt WAS, and for the ion it has rebound which shoots faster. I like both guns, but which one would better benefit me? What i look for in a gun is a fast (anything 17bps an up is more than enough), durability, and lightness (obviously the ion weighs less but it is worth it)?

Look on ebay for a impulse. You should be able to find an Impulse with a ton of upgrades and for CHEAP.
P.S: I shot an Ion two days ago and yes it is light but IMO its not as good as my impulse.

go for an impulse off ebay, because i'm tired of people buying ions and thinkin they are the best when they really aren't. they are amazing for $300, they are nothing compared to a $450 used impulse with some upgrades.

Thank you speedy I'm tired of these Ion owners as well.

I disagree. Just by virtue of its size, an ion can make shooting people much easier than even with a heavily upped imp (without milling). I would much rather have an ion (or a shocker or a FS or a borg) than an Imp if I'm playing front.

But for other positions, the Imp is fine, if not better. I know I can lane a lot better with my Imp than with my friends ION. But when it comes to gunfighting, snappability (woot new word) is what counts in my book.

well yes i would still take my impy over an ion, but any less upgraded than mine and they would start to even out. plus an ion with a QEV, CP reg, good barrel, clamping feed, ND trigger, nice micro drop or rail, and maybe a predator board, and a deadly eind aluminum milled body is a pretty nice and good looking gun. (but for all that stuff it would probably cost over 600).

to put that on an ion, it would actually cost more like $900,

ion-300
barrel-100
trigger-40
feedneck-40
qev-10
cp reg-80
rail-25
on/off-25
predator board-180
deadly wind body-200
total-900 with tax, give or take

a $300 ion is better than a $400 impulse, but a $600 impulse is better than any ion you can make as of yet. and is you get a used impulse, you can get a great deal.

and before milling, i had my impulse at 2lb9oz, and when i get it back after elia superlite milling, it should weigh 2lb2oz. that is very light. unless it's above 3lbs, it doesn't bother me.

although i guess in the end, it is like every other gun matchup and comes down to preference, but i think the impulse would be the better performer.

I'll go weigh my Imp for you guys too. I know my Imp is really light too and should weigh less than 2 lbs 2 oz.

For snap-shooting Ion is better because its shorter but its not that big of a deal.

Why would you compare a borg to an Imp? I heard that the borg is big too.

I thought they were too. I've never seen one in real life or read the dimensions, but I saw a pic of one sitting next to a FS. They had pretty much the same major dimensions, with the fs being slightly shorter (but barely).

You can't go wrong with an Imp, the ion phase will pass and everyone will realize that they aren't that great. We played in a tourney today actually and about 11 people had Ions and I didn't see one of them rip

Ions dont impress me at all. A team member of mine just recently got one, and just recently took it apart, and just recently broke it whilst handling it very delicatly. Go with the imp. It'll save you alot of trouble and time maintenence-wise. Impulses take like 4 seconds to clean. Ions, on the other hand, need to be handled like a newborn baby while cleaning them.
