Alright yll its taken me a while but here goes. I have a very long and detailed test i go through when trying a new ball.
I first take one of the new balls over a sink and break it open with a pencil. The fill on direct hit balls is very thick yet not that abnormal, however when smeared it keeps a very bright pink color that stays. The shell of the Paintball is quite interesting, The shell will easily dimple when you put pressure on it with your finger however it is still brittle enough to easily break on target. im lead to beleive it is a different material that makes the shell because unlike most paintballs the shell will not get slimy and start to dissolve after being run in warm water. The ball it self is fairly heavy probably due to the new shell and thick paint.
Shot Testing.
They claim their balls fly straighter and farther and are unwhipable... true? Mainly so. Because of the weight the ball flys fairly straight on a high pressure setup. These are not delicate balls, low pressure users such as myself might have a little problem with distance because of the added weight. The Fill as stated is very thick and hard to wipe, not only is it hard to wipe it is very permanent. Many fields will not let you play with paint that is permanent but whos gonna know? The balls very accurate and fly just as straight as some good ole marbalizers given that your firing at a fairly high fps.
Conclusion.
Direct Hit paintballs are great recreational balls, there cheap and can keep up with many of the upper level balls. However low pressure users might have a problem with distance. Biggest downfall... there permanent! Alot of people get pretty mad when their jerseys get stainded by some punk. However for the price they are a GREAT ball, i certainly plan on buying some quickly. The price is right
If youve tryed them and have a problem with anything ive said just lemme know. Hope this helps. they get A+ for me

i just wanted to say thanks to you for taking your time to do a review, now i will buy the direct hit paint. To me the fact that they are permanent is a plus because some of the kids who play at my field wipe, so hey now they can't.

I have way too much free time, me and my friends always make videos of ourselves to pass the time, it isreally funny watching yourself get thrown of a big pile of and land head first in a ditch.(that was a keeper)

intruder....u are a little kid
anyways..my friend recieved his 30 balls from amargio1...and he tried them out today
he like the fill...he said big splatter...and he said he could see why drako said it was staining. he wiped some on his hands.....and he rubbed it off..but he could still see faint pink on his hands.....and it would be worse with clothing. also....he tested the direct hits against marballizers from 20 feet i think. he shot 2 rounds each, marbs were about 1 inch from each other, the direct hits were on top of each other. my friend has a bigshot and a spyder with no other upgrades besides the bigshot and an expansion chamber. to me....this is totally awesome....a hella accurate paint....dat is almost 20$ cheaper than marbs.....

Id also like to add i think there a slightly larger bore. I wouldnt say there Large but i dont think there small, they should sit at medium however htis is mearly by eye. it could definetly be wrong!

hey guys really this paint does wash out of your clothes with normal wash.we make it we know....heres review from editor of action pursuit games ezine....thx for the great reviews on this page also..tony margott sr.
Sneak Preview: Direct Hit Paintballs 3-27-01 action pursuit games by jonathan berstein editor.
Your ezine editor was one of the first to order and try the new
"Direct Hit" paintballs from http://www.paintballgeek.com, but was very
skeptical about the company's claims -- that this small-medium bore,
VERY sticky and hard-to-wipe paint is, at under $40 per case
retail, good paint. The case of paint had 2,000 balls; the
shell was pink/purple and the fill was pink, thick and pasty.
It doesn't wipe into fabric.
In the trial, about 200 balls were shot through each of three
markers (Bushmaster BM2K2, Epic and Piranha), using three
different barrels (Dye Excel, 32 Degree Carbon Fiber, Piranha stock).
There were no ball breaks. At approx. 60 feet, through all barrels
and markers, at slow fire and rapid fire, the paint consistently
stayed in about an 8-12 inch circle, with all indications being
that the differences were attributable to the marker/barrel
combinations versus the paint.
If you've tried this paintball, let us know how it performed for you,
what marker you used, and what color shell/fill you shot. Email
jonathan@actionpursuitgames.com.

i got the direct hit paint like 2 days ago but havent tried them out. i broke one over my crapper hole and it stained the side of the toilet, and my finger nails.
the balls are actually smaller bore than an average marb. i was putting them into my dye ss and they would fall, or easily slide through. then i put a marb and noticed that there was more of a tight fit in the ss.
agian the paint is nice a thick.
when looking at the seam of the paint it was quite uneven.
not trying to smack direct hit just giving the info.
!Warning! these results are after the paint was shipped from cali to CT. (long trip). when i recieved them they were cold.

My team has a good collection of markers that will be testing this stuff in:
Booming Cocker
Bob Long Intimidator
Tippmann 98 Flatline
Tippmann Pro Carbine
and others...
We just ordered a case yesterday for testing.
I like the heaviness I am hearing about... dont like the semi staining smearing fill however. When we get it - and I bet I'll get the case before the sample - I'll write another full review that will include a day of actual team on team play.
The paint I am really looking for is WorrPaint.
When is that stuff coming out? Paintballgeek.com wants to do me/us a favor - get us that stuff at a good discount!
amargio1

you will find direct hit to out do worr in every aspect....but lets wait till you shoot them and then you tell me....we can get any paint, but we are players also and we have put this paint at every test posible and it does not fail!

Splat Attack
04-08-2001, 12:15 PM
Would it work well in a J&J two peice
simon woodstock
04-08-2001, 12:20 PM
hey drako you used it for your ceramic right? how was the fit?
Mad Ogre
04-08-2001, 12:33 PM
Direct Hit is small to very small in size... A J&J is small more too right? It should work great.
I would even bet that this paint would work well in a stock barrel.
This stuff is that good.
Peace

well i played with my direct hit balls saturday .i have to give a review here because i cant get into product review for some reason.first of all i want to say i think all paintballs are overpriced.i think your good ones should be about 20.00 a case.i know im going to get some laughs from some of you,but i play 2 times a month because thats all i can afford.im married and have kids so my familys needs have to come first.i assume most of us paintballers dont have alot of money to waste, but i know there are some that the price of paint doesnt matter.some of these online stores are charging 100.00 a case for good paint thats crazy i cant beleive that people dont shop around and find the same thing for 40.00.ok ill get off my soap box.well direct hit paint is great paint.ive never shot marbs because its too expensive, but it sounds like alot of people think direct hit is better.i really liked the paint.i use a desert fox with a j&j ceramic barrel.i went through about 1300 rounds and broke 1 ball for the most part it was very acurate.its deffintly a small paint it rolls right through my barrel.well i guess thats about it .buy some!!!!!!!
simon woodstock
04-24-2001, 05:38 PM
paint can be expensive 'cuz there's such a rising demand for it so i'd keep on buying direct hit until all the other compaies lower their prices, byt he way where have you seen 100$ for a box of paint thats rediculus, i've nevr seden anything that high, except maybe at a field.
