I am about to purchase an ION. I am wondering what is the best barrel (pro: cons: please). I am in any price range.

And also, what size? I have been playing woods ball, so I want some good accuracy (heard the longer, usually the more accurate, but use more gas). But I am a rec/ tourny(want to be in tournys, but just started a month ago) player who is very aggressive, and plays tight, and is always in the action to get my team out of the situation in woodsball, or bringing the team home with a couple of victories, and the lest amount of losses as possible. I have trusted you guys before and didn't let me down.

The cp's are very sexy.

a 14" would be good

Pro's:affordable, accurate, awesome
Cons:None i saw, works beautifully.

The Cp or the J&J Ceramic are the ones you might here the most, its all preference, take a look at em in the review sections. very nice barrels.

The Ultralites are pretty good, but if you're not looking to spend a lot of money, get the CP or J&J.

Yes, I believe in if you save and buy something good in the first place, you save alot of money in the long run. What are the cons: and pros: for both of the guns? Ans what is their official name, I can't seem to find them. And what is the official, or very informative website for both of these barrels. Thank you for helping me out of the garbage.

The CP will perform the same as the Ultralite, so it really won't save you any money in the long run.. Anyways, a longer barrel also doesn't affect accuracy. The ball stops acellerating at 8", needs 2" more to stabilize, and then the rest should be ported until the tip for optimal efficiency and accuracy. I'd go with the CP barrel if I were you.

I'd suggest a 14inch barrel, so that you can poke it through bushes, push in airball bunkers, and still be able to play a tight game. Its the most versitale size for every style of play.

I don't think CP has their barrels in Impulse threads yet, since they just released the 2005 style, so you may have to wait a bit. The J&J is also nice, because the teflon impregnated barrel shoots through breaks more easily and is fairly quiet for its small amount of porting. My friend got a Boomstick (steel version of the UL) with his B2k, and said that he noticed no difference between his Boomy and his CP...

I guess I'll have to ask the guys at my proshop. I have an 14" Whisper barrel for my Spyder Imagine 2k4, but I am selling it to my friend in a package. Why would they make 21" barrels, or 8" barrel is they don't work as well? Should I get the CP 1 piece, of 2 piece?

They make them to appeal to whoever is naive enough to think they make a difference.

Just get the 1-piece. Only reason to get a 2-piece is if you already have a front & need different-threaded backs (like if you had a cocker & an ion) or if you needed diffferent back bores (if you don't/can't use the same paint every time, good to have various bores to match various paint).

Heard that 1 piece are better than 2 piece, this true?

Yes and no. One peice is easy to maintain and to use, just screw in and use. Now, in a two peice world, u either have different gun backs as stated earlier, or you have different bore backs. They make them so they are interchangeble, but its a paint in the butt to take them apart if you accidently over tighten, but great if you use the barrel for all types of stuff. For example, for my ion, i use a progressive barrel, cheap and works great. Same on my a-5. Now on my auto cocker, i bought a J+J edge kit. This is the most greatest kit ever made. I can change the front tips for length to depend on if i'm playing speed or woods. Differnet sized backs for paint to bore match. Its just what you can afford and what you can do.

Thanks man. I also heard that Stiffi barrels were the best barrels you could buy for. . . mostly anything.

The stock barrel on the Ion is actually pretty good compared to the other stock barrels I've seen. I shot one today and had great grouping and no breaks.
