Okay, paintball firsts invented by Tippmann:

Flatline Barrel: The first barrel with a curve. It allows a flat trajectory, and will likely revolutionize paintball in the next decade.

Paint Grenades: Until the Meteor Swarm came out, this is the only grenade available that I have ever heard of or seen.

Grenade Launcher: Has anyone ever seen a commercially available grenade launcher made by any other reputable paintball company?

Hellhound: The first rotating 10-barrel chain gun equipped, mortar lauchning, grenade shooting ATV from a major paintball company (not for sale)

Tippmann Pin Valve
Another form of pin valve, patented by Tippmann Pneumatics, which is stronger, less likely to leak and more dependable than a Schrader core valve. (From Durty Dan's site)


Anyone know of any other innovations by Tippmann?

Tippmann made the first full-auto marker: SMG 60 & made the first semi-auto: 68 Special.

Tippmann made the first back bottle guns.

Tippmann made the first force feed hopper system which was on the Factory FA

Tippmann invented the pin valve period...

Tippmann has always led the way with inovative products. If it wasn't for Tippmann, we could still be playing with pumps.

are you sure?? if then, why do they have pics of their grenade launchers on tippmann guns?

yea the launchers were made by tippmann or tippmanns sister company (still tippmann).

Paintball wasnt invented by tippmann it was invented by loggers using markers (guns that shoot paint) to mark trees to be cut down. hence the name markers. eventually one just shoot the other and the other returned fire...paintball was born.

but yes tippmann was one of the first major companies (if not the first i never looked into it) in the sport.

im not sure but i believe tippmann also encouraged the first scenario game but i dont think they promoted it.

and tippmann also makes the best sniper gun (sl-68II) its better than phantoms and any of the snipers IMO because my friends have both (one phantom one sniper2) and i still think sl-68 is a better gun.

oooo yeah they also made the first built in hopper agitator(sp) as a mod on the 98c

You can't forget that Tippmann or one of their sister companies makes some industrial size sewing machines. They used to have a link on their site to them. Another thing they make, not the first, just another thing.
