WHAT THE HECK IS UP WITH THE SHUTTER!?
Not too long ago I saw it in a magazine and being a silly easily influenced kid, I was like SCHAWINGGGG!!! But I was weaned off that notion by all the trashtalk about it! What exactly is wrong with it neway though!? I just heard remarks about general crappieness. oh well.

u could try searching...but to sum it up:

regulator before the expansion chamber in the gas feeding process is not right. the regulator regulates the amount of air entering the gun, making it more consistant, but the expansion chamber allows heat to make the pressure higher of the air entering the gun. that means the regulator is useless. this is one of the biggest problems

Also, maybe 1/4-1/3 of all that money for a shutter is all cosmetic. the "Zebra" bolt is just an anodized and milled stock bolt with rear cocking. some people say that it "attracts dirt" or "dirt gets inside" but i really dont think dirk can get inside unless u shove it into the ground. also the really cheap anodizing and milling on the gun puts its price up and i dont think its worth it. the drop forward that comes with it....useless. it puts the tank up maybe 1 inch.

If your thinking of buyin the Shutter....i'd look into the Spyder TlPlus and turn it into a dream like Tlplus84 did....or......look into that new Spyer Xtra...it looks like hybrid between the shutter and the Tlplus....with a regulator and everything. if not.....get a spyder compact 2000 and upgrade it until its better than the shutter. you'll save money and most likely turn it into a better gun than the spyder

wow....a tippmann owner knows something about the spyder....wooow.........

The Shutter isn't perfect but i think alot of people just like to complain. Many people complain about it being a waste of money mostly. I guess for me it kinda was because most of the stuff you pay extra for i took off anyway. If your not gonna do much to it its a pretty good deal. I would recomend it and any Spyder depending on what you want and how much you are going to spend. Also if you find another stacked tube blowback marker you like go with that because its pretty much the same.

I have a Shutter because up here in Maine they kick asss. You got a bunch of Paintball players that have model 98's and Shutters. Mine works great and I am not going to complain.

Get the cmpact 2000 spyder and upgrade with the parts you want on it, not the stuff you are forced to take if you buy a spyder. It will be more personalized and it will haveonly the stuff you want.

Especially people who spent too much on ther LDS Guns ie mags and cockers. its all part of the compensation complex im shure the shutter not all that bad though it focused mainly on looks but hey its still a spyder and can have any spyder mod done to iti don't see the big deal

Yeah, dang mormon guns. :D Anyway, the problem that people (like meself) have with the Shutter is that you are paying for basically nothing but the looks. Be honest now, do any of you think that the Shutter really has any huge performance advantage over, say, a C2K? Or a TL Plus? Or a Piranha? Or a Tippmann? Truth is, any gun that is lower on the food chain than something like a mag or cocker, is going to have very little difference in performance from any other gun in the same category. Take the STS G2 for instance. It comes with a nice stock barrel, so it's more accurate (no, the crap reg doesn't make a big difference). It also comes with a shorter, lighter trigger, meaning that it's also faster. People talk crap about the STS, mainly because it comes with a plain ol' foregrip instead of an expansion chamber. Well, guess what... expansion chambers are pretty much gimmicks. They don't do the job even AS well as a remote, or an anti-siphon tube, and yet they cost more. PMI knows this, so they didn't put an x-chamber on the gun. Kingman also knows this, but they put it on anyway, because Kingman also knows that gimmicks work. Or maybe PMI is just hoping you'll buy the Pure Energy reg, or a nitro tank (say, a PE tank?), in which case the expansion chamber is useless. Damn I'm wandering off topic. Anyway, like PBSouLjAh was saying, most of the extra parts on the Shutter don't do anything more than sell markers (although they're very good at that). Evilcrayon, (hehe, I love that name), if they were going to sell it as just a nice looking Spyder that you could upgrade to your liking, they really should sell it without expensive pieces on it, or even just sell the body by itself. But, they wouldn't make as much money that way, so of course it never happened.
