That's a tough one IMO.

It is usually very expensive for someone just starting out in Tourney play, playing for a Team.

But speaking as an older guy (36, yeah shut up all of you:D ), who's played sports all his life. I have never found another sport that teaches so much, and lets you bond so much as playing Paintball.

I played baseball, football, soccer, lacrosse, and rode competitively in Equestrian events for years all through High School and beyond.

But the Teamwork, dedication, planning, being smart, taking risks, dedication (repeated twice on purpose), and bonding are things that will leave a good impression and will teach you more about life and the necessary tools to succeed, than any other sport I have ever played.

So if I were in your shoes. I would make my case to my parents. But just as in geting a Sponsorship for the first time, your gonna have to prove it, before you get it.

Agree to make higher grades in school. Show them your serious. If your already an Honor Student, then agree to help out more at home. Show them your serious. Do whatever it takes.

If you can't complete the agred upon tasks, then your parents are correct in not letting you join a Team. If you can't do your homework or housework, then trust me. You'll never be able to add something to make a winning Team.

Yeah a bit harsh, but when I interview High School guys before a try-out, I ask them their grades and have them show me their last report card.. And I personally guarantee their parents their grades will stay the same (if good) or will improve, or I will kick them off the Team.

If you can't do good in school, then how can you think when balls are whipping by your head at 300 FPS? It's all about dedication.

^^^^Well said. Tell them it builds leader skills, responsiblity, and builds self-confidence in knowing that you help build a team.
