Should i get a freak or a stiffi for my 2004 bko?
And does anybody know which is more acurate?
Because im leaning towards the stiffi cause it is lighter!

I thought they looked kinda weird too until I bought one. They look better in person, and it definately grows on you.
Between the two, get the Stiffi. Freaks are overpriced and overhyped. They dont measure up to most other barrel kits out there. Stiffi's are very expensive, but at least that expense is justified because they're so light.
also check out the Matchstik and Scepter if you havent already. Besides CP, they're two of my favorites.

Depending on how much money you have, I think it's best to narrow it down to CP, Ultralight, or Stiffi. All great barrels that have their advantages and dissadvanteges. They seem to be getting the best reviews and used by most people looking for good barrels. I personally have a CP and love it. My mag is shooting darts with it.

What's the point of using something like the freak kit? The rest of you're barrel will just be larger or smaller than the insert right?
What's the general opinion on the J&J Ceramic Barrel?
Whats the general opinion on the stock ICD barrels?

What's the point of using something like the freak kit? The rest of you're barrel will just be larger or smaller than the insert right? The first 5 to 8 inches of a barrel is what really determines the accuracy. The rest of the barrel isn't really needed. So as long as the first several inches of the barrel is the correct bore size, the size of the rest of the barrel doesnt really matter.
Thats one problem I have with the Stiffi though. The backs are like 1 inch long. Whereas Scepters have inserts that are like 5.5 inches, CP backs are about 4.5 inches at least, etc. Also, it puzzles me that so many barrels have porting in the first 8 inches.
The J&J Ceramic is a great barrel, especially for the price. Probly comparable to a CP 1-piece.
I hated my stock ICD barrel. But other ppl have had better luck with theirs. Regardless, a new barrel is a very worthwhile upgrade.

If we only need 8 or so inches... Why bother with more than 8? Is it a better idea to get the barrel that has the least length? Like a 12"

shorter barrels are harder to aim with, and harder to push bunkers aside with.....the air efficiency loss isn't really that bad, so i'd recommend using the longest barrel that's comfortable for you to use.
i like 14in barrels, but that's just me......some people find it annoying to use anything longer than 10in.....some people use 18's....it's preference, there's not really a performance difference.

I'd personally recommend 14-16. I don't really like much shorter or longer.

The elongest I would ever dare to go would be 18", just for the soul purpose of pushing bunkers. Of those, I would say stiffi. The freak is crap. (believe me I have it)

I use a 12 inch for hyperball and normal speedball, and a 14 inch for airball.

Hyperball? Thats a new term...
Besides .689 what are the other most common sizes?

it's the one with the black pipes...
and go with a .693, large bore shoots anything good.....but I'm one of those people that doesn't practice paint to barrel match as a religion.....I think it's crap actually....

Haha, I think I still may have that video you sent me a while ago showing me why you think it's wrong :). I'd agree though, try getting a .691 or so. .689 is the most common, but you never know when you'll need a larger bore.

Why is it wrong? I'd imagine you'd want to get as close as possible...

My CP .689 shoots anything well. If I had cocker threading I'd probly pick up a really cheap used kit somewhere (like $80) just for the helluvit, but since ICD threaded kits are hard to find used I just dont bother, I dont care enough to spend the money on a new kit. My CP 1-piece is more accurate than my friend's Freak even with the proper insert anyway.
Hyperball? Thats a new term... yeah, the one with silver or black pipes. You've probly seen it. It's actually old, came out in like 1996. Its dying out now cause of airball.

What threads will the 05s have? I'd assume it'd be Auto-Cocker right?
Think I could get my hands on that video?
