I bought one but am not impressed. :eyes:

Evidently some other guys here aren't either. My question is: am I expecting too much of an improvement from this barrel?

I got it on an A-5.

Its hard to say if your are expecting to much from a barrel when you don't say what it did and what you were expecting. But I don't think your are expecting to much from it if its less accurate and louder then the stock barrel. I do think you are expecting to much if you want it to hit ball on top of ball at 500 yards and be so quiet that you can't here it fire. All I know about barrels is keep them clean make sure you squeegee and then wash the porting.

It added at the most 50 feet but is kind of inaccurate. The stock barrel is just as accurate but is short by about 50 feet. I am thinking of getting a Flatline for my A-5 and putting the SP on my piranha. The best price I found so far is $99.95 brand new at the local shop here. Anyone know of a better price?

I wouldn't get a flatline for 100 dollars you can get a lot better barrel (or kit).

$100 for a Flatline is about the best price you'll find.

There are many debates on barrels, but I tell you (and this is coming from almost 15 years of paintball experience) that almost all barrels are the same, regardless of manufacturing or anything else.

The most accurate pb gun I've ever used is a Splatmaster Rapide with a 5" barrel. To this day it can outshoot most other markers when going for distance.

I use a Sniper II pump with a stock barrel as my primary. I've heard a lot of people bash the stock barrels, but I eliminated a guy at 200 feet with it (I really arced the shot, it was a fluke) and in general gameplay I'm just as accurate as the guys with the expensive barrel systems.

Don't buy into the hype, most $50 barrels are just as good as $400 barrel kits.

Thanks for the insight guys. I will definitely take it into consideration and look foreward to testing a few barrels out for my own personal experiance. Take it easy, but play HARD!

You got it right, try them yourself, that's the only way you'll know what's true and what isn't.
