According to a super I spoke to a while back, in order to be a moderator you must be an agent first. So all those agents are our future mods basically. I.e. 4thdegree, speedy2k4, etc.

I think Sid isn't Forum Leader anymore because he hasn't posted in over a year or so. I remember someone saying that that's one of the rules, if you don't post in a year (or some certain date), your position/title gets taken.

No Sid is gone, but he keeps his title. He gave a reason for leaving as far as I know...unlike Silent Knight who didn't show up for 6 months and gave no reason why.

our thanks in a nutshell. Being an Agent is a thankless job. They do all the searching, report all the bad stuff, take the abuse from everyone (especially the Mods and Supers :P ). But is a great testing ground for Modship. So I guess the advantage is that they can become a Mod faster and get that "sense of power" and the green title under their name. Another advantage is that they have the staff's complete support. We tend to listen to them first over a "normal" member. An example of that: say agent A says "Joe Smo is being a pain and should be banned". He'll list a post or link to a thread that shows why. I'll give it a quick look and most likely ban Joe Smo. Now if a member were to tell me the same thing, I'll dig a bit deeper to see if Joe Smo should really be banned. Don't get me wrong here though, it's not complete blind trust for them but at this point if they're an agent, they've already proven to be worth listening to and we know that they won't just say that about Joe without a good reason. Now on the off chance that were to happen, a member would get a warning to knock it off. An agent (or any staff member taking advantage of their rank) will be stripped of said rank and banned. We hold them to a much higher standard. Personally I see being held to that as an advantage, but others think it's a downside. Other members also see that green title and most do in fact tend to listen to agents more then a "normal" member. Most members do understand that if they have that title they will most likely have a good clue to what they're talking about. So peeps will tend to put a bit more stock in what they say. Trust is always a good advantage.
