WOW!! BIG DEAL! I carry (9) 150rnd pods with me every tourny game I play and usually go through 6-9 of them. Thats around 1550 paintballs when you include 9 pods and your revvy. 600 paintballs isnt really alot if you think about it. As a backman I need that much paint to cover my teammates. Later

Why so much? I carry 2 100 round pods and what's in my hopper. Do I run out of paint? Very rarely... something like maybe 1 game out of 20 or so I'll run low... and about 1 out of 10 of those I'll run out. If I had a 3rd pod (or 2 150 round pods) I wouldn't have run out those times, and would hardly ever run low.

then again, I play a bit more conservitive... I like to make my shots count more then the spray and pray crowd. Course, I also only play recreational...

i play rec. ball in the woods in my small town with some people, no big stuff. no big guns. this KID shoots all his paint from waaaay back where i know he could not see anyone. i was up and to his left on a tiny bluff about 20 feet in front of him. there was this low hanging treebranch that covered alot of area so you could see but not shoot through it very easily. and anyway, i see some movement, so i shoot a few, hitting the bunker he's behind. And all fire broke when this kid opens up and uses about fifty rounds............... they all hit the branch in front of him. he ended up wasting his whole hopper down to nothing on this branch and the bunker. it was sad. real sad. good paint wasted because he didn't want to move. i hate that

I went through 700 in one game, and then started shooting air, just to keep some of the opposing players in their bunkers.:wink2:

I carry so much paint because in tournaments your not worried about the money as much as the fact that your playing for money, paint, trophies, jerseys, etc. As a backman your job is to keep the other team down, and let your team make key moves to win the game. Without alot of paint, a backman would be useless. When Im at team pracice or just playing rec I only carry 5 pods. There is no need to carry so much in a rec game because you arnt playing for anything. Later

I dont move much...am I a sitting duck?

you might be a sitting duck, it just depends. can you see the enemy? do you know at least in what general area they are? do you know where the rest of your team is? Also, what is your job to do in that game. if you are a back man..... you're fine, as long as you can give some cover for the rest of the team, and COMMUNICATE!!! if you just sit tight in one or two bunkers with limited visibility, then you might be a sit'n duck. it also depends on what type of game, and how it's going.

I play outlaw and I only carry my hopper onto the field! I can't afford alot of paint and I only go through 500 paintballs in a full day at the most! I only get 40 dollars (Canadian) per month in allowance. Also I am not working anymore so I don't have that money coming in anymore. In the summer I will be working Fridays when they get busy again but I still wont shoot alot of paint!

I don't understand how you guys can shoot so much paint and think almost nothing of it! That is alot of case for one single game! Not to mention that everything else in this sport is unbelievably expensive!

A sponsor would be the only way I would think about shooting so much...

If you guys have all this money to use on cases upon cases of paint, then how about you invest a single hundred on a good semi-auto pistol (or find a good one used for $40 like I did) and see what it's like using less than ten rounds of paint per game, and less than 100-150 a day? If you're spending all this much on paint normally, then the experiment's worth a try...

Hey it just comes down to this old saying. "Smoke'em if ya got'em!" Why not? It takes a variety of players doing a variety of things all at the same time to make stuff happen. I'll empty a hopper or two on average every game! Sometimes less, and Sometimes alot more!! ;) It all depends on what the sititation calls for, and of course if I've got the paint! :D

I knosome crzy ppl that will waste about 600 per rec game, until the case they bought is empty, and go home. I am not kidding, a few of them will come back the next week, pay field fee, and THROW ground paint. It is HALARIOUS.

If you want to really save money, w/o throwing, get a descent pump and get good with it. I played with a Sheridan P68 w/ ASA compatibility one day, I shot about 200 rounds the entire day, and was still geting descent eliminations. I also want to bring my air cannon to a field that will allow it, and just fire old ground paint through it the entire day.

HOLY CRAP!!!!!! Some people use tons of paint per game....I am lucky to use 400 in a full day...But I play outlaw...
One time I bought 1000 paintballs and I had around 700 left after the day.....I ended up playing 3 more days with that same 1000.

2 HOPPERS= ALL DAY FUN!

I don't use a lot of paint at all. I probably use 1000 paintballs during a whole day of paintballing.:P :D

oh my god dude...... this one time at my friends field on his ranch(50 acres) we had a huge game of 35 people per team... well after about 25 minutes into the game there were about 10 people on my team and 20 people on the OpFor when all of a sudden 3 dudes in ghillies pop out of the brush on a field we were passing and lite us up.... it was me and two friends who were left, we eliminated the dudes in ghillies and hauled some major rearend when we heard their walk-talky's go wild with yelling of their teamates, assuring them that they'd be in the area in a minute, so when we got to our tree house type bunker, we climbed up and pulled up the rope ladder and there were two cases of paint in there with us...... to make a long story short there was a 10 minute shoot out and all 4000 rounds from the cases and the other 1000 or so rounds from our hoppers and pods had been spent..... now that's what I call heavy fire.....

no you most certainly are not because the whole time you are spewing paint madly and probably standing a bit out of your bunker, ready to shoot anything that makes a move towards you. the only time you are a sitting duck is when you are hiding or when you are reloading.

how do you play outlaw?

Chad51
02-15-2002, 04:59 PM
Outlaw is when you just play with some other people away from a field in the forest somewhere. Of course it doesn't really have to be a forest you can make your own speedball fields but it usually is played as woodsball.

this weekend I used a case in a day....... not that much, I used to do it a lot but I haven'e been lately....... it's just that I was rushing the whole time because I finally got put on the team with all the good people, so the newbies were on the OpFor..... fools.

however, remember, his mom (because he has his mom buy him a new box every week and a half) only lets him have like 1 and a half bags to go play a whole day.
