Hi,
I need to purchase 5 semi-auto markers in the next couple weeks for an event.
Are rebels going to fall apart with normal use? I have been looking at the standard Bottomline models.
thanks

They shouldnt, if their taken care of properly.

Rebels will last forever if cared for correctly. the need to be cleaned and oiled after every day of use. and you have to oil the trigger sear or it will wear down really fast. but other than that rebels are great guns. the only upgrade that is basically neccesary is if you run co2 is to get an expansion chamber for use in cold weather. hope those rebels go to good use. happy hunting

One other upgrade thats pretty important for more serious play is a new barrel, increasing accuracy, usually dramatically.

Hi,
Thanks for the replies. ACI griffins or spyders are also being considered.
I think that the rebels offer a good price/performace ratio however.

Tictaks ,
when you say maintenence what might you be refering to?
From what I have been able to find out from the local shop and online the seal kits are about the same price for each.
thanks

after every time you play with a rebel, you have to tear it down, oil it, replace the ball detent, etc. and clean it too. also you must check all the o-rings, this gun loves to blow em.
I've noticed that the Rebel is pretty particular in what paintballs you use. If you buy cheap balls then it will chop them and shoot double often. If you use better balls like Marbleizers then it won't chop them or shoot double. I figure, that you must always use medium bore paint for the gun to perform as it should.

I think tictacs was doing something wrong to have to do all of that to his gun each day. I only had one problem, which was the vavle pin, it scratches easily (or somehow gets dirt in it), and will cause your gun to leak horrbily. But they are included in a parts kit.
